After buying the cake, Wu Tian and Qin Yuhan went straight home.
"Sweetheart, come here. This is a SpongeBob cake."
But the little girl just bit her finger. She looked at Wu Tian and Qin Yuhan for a moment, glanced at the cake, and then said hesitantly, "Can I not have it?"
Perhaps afraid of hurting her beautiful mother, she immediately added bashfully, "Mommy, I love you. I really, really like everything you buy, but..."
What’s wrong with her? Qin Yuhan was stunned.
Wu Tian walked over and took the little girl into his arms. Seeing her hesitation, he couldn’t help but reach out and gently rub the top of her head.
"You’re just a child, and children should speak their minds freely. Just say whatever you want to say." Wu Tian had already noticed something was amiss with his daughter.
She was so young, at an age where she wasn’t supposed to be so sensible. Yet, she seemed far more mature than her peers.
I don’t need you to be mature—not ever, Wu Tian often wanted to tell her. You just need to be cute. Be my adorable daughter.
How long can parents truly watch over their children? It was a difficult question, one that many parents were reluctant to answer.
Now, hearing Wu Tian’s words, the little girl poked her head out from his arms. "You... you both work. You don’t have time to be with me anymore."
Qin Yuhan sighed.
Wu Tian did as well. After pondering for a moment, he said, "Then I’ll take a few days off to play with you. How does that sound?"
The simulated business assessment was just around the corner, and Qin Yuhan wanted to object, but she couldn’t bring herself to say the words. Since her daughter was born, she, as a mother, had also rarely spent time with her.
Hearing that Wu Tian would be with her, the little girl wiggled her bottom excitedly in his arms, wrapped her arms around his neck, and giggled, "Daddy, you’re the best!"
She was growing more and more attached to Wu Tian.
Feeling a pang of jealousy, Qin Yuhan said, "So, Daddy is good, but Mommy isn’t?"
The little girl tilted her head and looked at Qin Yuhan. After thinking for a moment, she pouted and said, "Mommy, you’re good too, but... but you’re never with me."
Qin Yuhan walked over and gently tweaked her daughter’s little nose. "Mommy knows she was wrong. From now on, I’ll make more time to be with you. I’ll take time off too, okay?"
"Okay!" The little girl jumped up. "So, where are we going?"
Wu Tian thought for a moment and said, "You tell us."
"The Magic City! The Magic City!" the little girl cried, clapping her hands.
"Sweetheart, how do you know about the Magic City?" Qin Yuhan asked.
"I saw it on TV!" the little girl wriggled in Wu Tian’s arms, shouting, "Let’s go to the Magic City! Let’s go to the Magic City! I want to go to the Magic City!"
She felt like there was something there for her, a reason she had to go.
Before Qin Yuhan could say anything, Wu Tian, as the head of the family, gave the order. "Alright. We’ll go to the Magic City tomorrow."
"What about the simulated business assessment?" Qin Yuhan looked at him.
"We’ll deal with it when we get back," Wu Tian replied, looking at her. "You should take some time off too."
Qin Yuhan considered it. This was a critical time. If she took a vacation, the Kuangte Family would definitely find out, and it would leave a bad impression. Their collaboration would likely fall through.
