Wu Tian, Lin Zhan, and the little one decided to go to Longjing.
After they met, Lin Zhan smiled. "I’ve already bought our plane tickets."
"Do you like taking the plane?" Wu Tian asked, looking at the little one.
The little one shook his head. "I want to fly on my own."
Wu Tian chuckled. "Besides, planes are too slow."
Planes are slow? Lin Zhan was speechless. "Even if you use Qinggong, which is faster than a car, there’s no way it’s faster than a plane, right?"
Wu Tian shook his head. "Qinggong? I don’t know how to do that."
"That’s right, my Papa doesn’t know Qinggong," the little one cried out, catching Lin Zhan off guard. Then, his tone shifted abruptly. "But my Papa can fly."
Wu Tian nodded, then picked up the little one. Grabbing Lin Zhan’s shoulder with his free hand, he pushed off from the ground and soared into the air.
With his former cultivation, crossing to the other side of Earth in a single step would have been a trivial matter. However, Wu Tian was only at the Foundation Establishment realm now. He had to land and rest in every city they passed, which allowed the little one to enjoy the local cuisine. The little one was ecstatic, giggling happily the entire way.
Even so, they still arrived in Longjing in a very short amount of time.
「Shuimu University」
Shuimu University was named for its clear waters and illustrious reputation. Within the Dragon Country, only Longjing University could claim to be its equal.
Outside Shuimu University, Wu Tian, the little one, and Lin Zhan were waiting. It was evening, when classes had ended, and students were leaving the campus in small groups.
After waiting a while, a middle-aged man in his forties finally walked out. He wore gold-rimmed glasses and exuded a scholarly aura; at a glance, he was clearly a man of profound knowledge. He must have also been a good teacher, as many students saluted him with sincere respect upon seeing him.
Only one older man, who spat on the roadside as he passed by, chuckled derisively. "So self-righteous. Let me tell you, times have changed. If you don’t join us, you’re in for a world of hurt." After speaking, the old man in the Zhongshan suit departed.
"I... I’ve recently heard a rumor," Lin Zhan said, looking at Wu Tian with a complicated expression. "It’s going around Longjing that Professor Wu Cheng’en is a descendant of *that* person. In that case... wouldn’t that also make you..." His eyes filled with even greater respect as he spoke of that person. "Should we go over and see him?" Lin Zhan asked cautiously.
"Of course," Wu Tian nodded.
When Wu Tian walked up to Wu Cheng’en carrying the little one, with Lin Zhan following behind, the professor was taken aback. He completely ignored Lin Zhan. He couldn’t, however, simply laugh off Wu Tian’s distinguished presence and the little one’s cuteness. Besides, he felt a strange sense of familiarity with the two of them.
"And you are?"
"Wu Tian," he stated his name simply.
Wu Cheng’en’s eyes lit up.
The little one also called out, "And me! I’m even more amazing."
Even if he were an elder, that meant little in his eyes. The emperors of the mortal realm were nothing but stones in his sight, so what then of Wu Cheng’en?
