The fat man was a Xieling Strongman. The skinny one, a Mount Mover Taoist. And the woman with the triangular eyes was a Faqiu General.
The Mount Mover Taoist had said that people like Wu Tian were born to be useful.
The Xieling Strongman and Faqiu General seemed to have the same thought, both chiming in, "That’s right, useful."
"For moving things, for example."
But why would the successor of the Mount Mover Taoists—that skinny man—speak up for Wu Tian and the others?
It was because this particular Mount Mover Taoist had taken a fancy to Wu Tian. He stepped forward and looked Wu Tian over carefully several times before asking, "You want to go tomb raiding, don’t you? I can see you have great potential. With guidance from a master, you could certainly make a name for yourself."
The Mount Mover Taoist had his own methods; using his Aura-Observing Technique, he could see that Wu Tian was no ordinary person. He felt that Wu Tian’s aura was immense. If he learned the arts of the Mount Movers, all evil would shy away from him upon entering a tomb.
Wu Tian just chuckled, offering no reply to the Mount Mover Taoist’s words. It was a clear rejection.
The Xieling Strongman also gave Wu Tian a look but felt he was too thin to be a Xieling Strongman.
As for the Faqiu General, she originally had no intention of taking on a disciple. But after hearing what the Mount Mover Taoist said, she too took notice of the little girl. In her eyes, the little girl was like an uncut jade. Her eyes were bright and full of spirit. Her fingers were especially noteworthy; for one so young, they were remarkably long and slender. For the Faqiu General, long fingers were a crucial requirement when accepting a disciple. This was because Faqiu Generals had to master a specific skill: the Finger-Probing Technique!
"Little one, come with me. I have candy," the Faqiu General with the triangular eyes said with a smile as she walked up to the little girl.
Candy was the perfect bait for children; most of them loved it.
But she was mistaken. The person standing before her was no ordinary little girl.
"Hmph." The little girl snorted coldly, turning her head away and ignoring the Faqiu General.
"What’s wrong?" the Faqiu General asked, still not understanding where she had gone wrong.
"Trying to bribe a kid with candy? Heh, that’s so old-fashioned. If you’ve got the means, buy me a villa," the little girl declared righteously.
The Faqiu General was stunned speechless. Seeing the little girl’s attitude, she had no choice but to abandon the idea. After all, it wasn’t as if girls with long fingers were impossible to find.
What a pity. This father and daughter have no idea what a great opportunity they’ve missed. Zhao Zetian shook her head inwardly at the scene, but she didn’t dwell on it, as it had nothing to do with her.
Once everyone had gathered, Zhao Zetian led them to several off-road vehicles.
The vehicles left Jinyang Restaurant and headed north. En route, they made a special stop on a hill where a Wuling van was waiting with ten people inside.
"These are my little brothers," the fat Xieling Strongman in the van boomed with laughter. "The Xieling Sect is mostly comprised of men with immense strength and knowledge of martial skills, which is why we’re called Strongmen. You might not know this, but the famous Lu Bu, who once shook Jiuzhou, was a disciple of the Xieling Gate. He was tasked with raising military funds for Dong Zhuo and was even rumored to have dug up a chamber pot used by Qin Shi Huang."
"Heh, too bad Lu Bu still died at the hands of Cao Cao," the Faqiu General gloated. "Cao Cao defeated Lu Bu, which just goes to show that your Xieling Sect is inferior to us Faqiu Generals."
"If you two want to argue over which tomb raiding school is number one, don’t forget about me," the Mount Mover Taoist interjected, refusing to be outdone. "Back in the day..."
Inside the car, Wu Tian and the little girl grew annoyed with the boasting. Wu Tian took out his phone, selected a song, and placed earbuds in his and the little girl’s ears.
This kid... he ignores the important stuff. Once we’re in the tomb, if no one looks out for him, he probably won’t make it back out.
