There were people outside, and the scent of blood was in the air. They didn’t seem like good people.
Little Kirin’s eyes hardened as he glanced at the Little Phoenix beside him. Both were sleeping on the sofa.
The Little Phoenix nodded and chirped quietly to Little Kirin, "Just wait, I’ll show you how impressive I am."
Impressive? You? How could you be impressive? Little Kirin was full of disdain.
The Little Phoenix rolled its eyes.
Enraged, Little Kirin leaped off the sofa. He felt it was essential to let the Little Phoenix know what he was capable of. I have to show it my strength! It needs to know its place! When you were still an egg, I was the one protecting you from turning into a fried egg. Now that you’re not an egg anymore, you look down on me? It seems I really need to show you some of my true skills.

As Dai Haijing led his men toward Wu Tian’s house, one of the disciples felt his eyelids twitch wildly, overcome by a bad premonition.
"Wait a minute," he cried out.
The sudden shout brought everyone to a halt.
"Hey, what’s wrong with you?" Dai Haijing called out, annoyed.
Hearing this, the disciple stared solemnly at Wu Tian’s house ahead. He said gravely, "I feel restless today. I think we should leave immediately and not go any further. I have a feeling we might all die here."
What?
The disciple’s words made everyone present freeze.
"Nonsense!" Dai Haijing angrily slapped the disciple. "Bai Tianjing, what rubbish are you spouting? From the very beginning, you’ve been saying I’m wrong. Am I the master, or are you?"
Many disciples in the Giant Whale Gang said that if Bai Tianjing ever became the Gang Leader, he would lead them to new heights. Dai Haijing had always been uncomfortable with this. I’m not even dead yet, and you’re saying the Gang will only soar when he takes over? Pfft!
"Everyone, don’t mind him. This disciple of mine is used to being arrogant. Just let his words go in one ear and out the other," Dai Haijing said coldly, glancing at Bai Tianjing.
"So that’s how it is."
"I was wondering, how could our mission possibly go wrong?"
"Wu Tian isn’t home; there are only two women inside."
When it came to women, most men held them in contempt. Weak women... The idea was deeply ingrained in their minds. For men with some power, women were nothing more than accessories. Although some women were strong, they were a small minority. With Wu Tian away, his house posed no threat to them.
They quickened their pace and moved toward the house.
However, just then, someone shouted, "Look, something jumped out of the window!"
When they got closer, they saw it was just a bulldog, though it had been made up to look very much like a Kirin.
Heh, a Kirin? How could such a creature possibly exist?
But in the next moment, the creature they thought was a bulldog opened its mouth.
BOOM!
It spewed forth a sea of fire. This was the Great Ming King’s Fire! It was Little Kirin’s Innate Divine Ability.
The sea of fire surged like a great wave, rushing directly at Dai Haijing and his men. This sight made Dai Haijing and the others tremble in terror.
"What is this?"
"A fire-breathing dog?!"
Shocked, they scrambled to retreat.
But Little Kirin was not about to let them go. A dog? Screw you! Your whole family are dogs! Are you blind? I’m so handsome and imposing, yet you call me a dog? I’m a Kirin, you hear me!
Under Little Kirin’s control, the sea of fire did not harm the lawn; it only targeted his enemies. This was no Mortal Fire. Some men were consumed by the sea of flames before they could even escape, leaving no bones or ashes behind. Seeing this, Dai Haijing and the others were even more terrified.
「Longjing.」
Watching the live broadcast on an LCD screen, everyone was in shock. A fire-breathing dog? They had never seen or even heard of such a thing.
"What kind of creature is this?"
"Gang Leader Lin!"
"My God, even Gang Leader Guo is dead."
One after another, men died, mercilessly consumed by the living flames.
Now, only Dai Haijing and a few others were left.
"Why is this happening? How can a mere dog be this powerful?" Dai Haijing shouted, oblivious to his impending doom as he pointed at Little Kirin.
A dog? Little Kirin’s eyes gleamed with fury.
"Everyone, run!" Dai Haijing yelled, preparing to flee with his few remaining men.
But Little Kirin took matters into his own hands, lunging forward to bite.
"AH!" A scream rang out as Little Kirin snapped a man’s neck.
A moment later, another man was dead.
Dai Haijing had only taken four or five steps before he was the last one left. Little Kirin’s gaze was locked on him; there was no escape. Dai Haijing realized this, and regret washed over him.
The Sword Emperor hasn’t arrived. I haven’t obtained my wealth and honor, and now I’m going to be killed by a dog?
Clenching his teeth, Dai Haijing resolved to fight to the death. He threw a fierce punch at Little Kirin. He reckoned his martial prowess was nearly on par with Wu Song’s, enough to take on a tiger.
"AH!" Facing the punch, the little creature simply opened its mouth, and the sea of flames erupted once more.
Consumed by the flames, nothing remained of Dai Haijing.
A deathly silence fell!
Back in Longjing, everyone watching the video—from the martial sects and aristocratic families of the North—couldn’t help but wipe the cold sweat from their foreheads, their hearts still pounding with residual fear.
The Sword Emperor’s eyes, however, glinted with a different idea. He stood up from his seat and issued a command, "Follow me. We’re heading south!"
