Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy novel Chapter 351

Wu Tian left Arthur Restaurant with Chen Meiling, carrying the little one in his arms. Thanks to his black card, the meal was free. That group of ignorant people had just enjoyed a complimentary dinner.

They were delighted, but Wu Tian had used this meal to sever his so-called friendships with his elementary school classmates.

Chen Meiling wasn't staying at her own home but at a very safe, five-star hotel. Wu Tian drove her back.

During the entire ride, she was extremely uneasy and didn't even play with the little one. Wu Tian, however, remained calm. The little one asked, "Big Sister, what's wrong?"

"This is serious. Your dad hit someone, didn't you see?"

"I saw it. That kick was so cool," the little one said with a grin.

"..."

Chen Meiling was stunned by the little one's words. It took her a long moment to recover before she turned to Wu Tian worriedly. "Do we need to flee the country? I can arrange it."

As they were leaving the private room, she had glanced over at Wang Min. He was barely breathing, only exhaling but not inhaling. Despite being a large man, the single kick had seemingly caved in his fleshy stomach. Without a doubt, Wang Min's condition was critical. Even if he didn't die, he would suffer from grievous, lifelong injuries.

This was an incredibly serious matter. According to the law, intentional assault was punishable by up to three years in prison, criminal detention, or public surveillance. If it resulted in serious injury, the sentence was three to ten years. Causing death—or causing severe disability through particularly cruel means—was punishable by ten years to life in prison, or even the death penalty.

Chen Meiling was suddenly grateful she was a celebrity. I know people from all walks of life. She had already thought of who to contact to smuggle Wu Tian out of Dragon Country. Although Wu Tian is wealthy, money is powerless in the face of the law. Unless you have political power! But no matter how I look at him, he doesn't seem like the type to have that kind of influence.

"Wu Tian, don't worry. This is actually quite simple. I can arrange for a ship or a flight to get you out of the country. Don't worry about involving me; I'll do it without leaving a single trace..." Chen Meiling forced herself to say this calmly to reassure Wu Tian, but her palms were already slick with sweat.

"It was just an ant that died. What serious consequences could there be?" Wu Tian said with a laugh. He couldn't care less whether Wang Min lived or died because, in his mind, the man was already dead. As for the consequences? Wu Tian didn't give them a second thought.

The little one paid the matter no mind. She simply gazed out the car window at the captivating scenery, where the neon lights of the city flashed by on the dark highway.

Chen Meiling was dumbfounded. He practically killed a man, so how can Wu Tian be so unconcerned? Even his daughter doesn't seem to care! Have the times changed, or are this father and daughter simply insane?

...

Finally, they arrived at Chen Meiling's hotel. Strangely, a crowd had gathered outside, even though it was late at night. Every single one of them was pointing up at the hotel's glass facade.

"What is that?"

"Didn't I just say? That's a gecko!"

"Nonsense, since when are geckos that big?"

A clamor of voices rose from the crowd as they pointed at the figure scaling the wall like a gecko, their faces filled with curiosity.

Wu Tian got out of the car, still carrying the little one, and Chen Meiling followed. The moment she was out, she also hurried to look at the hotel wall. Sure enough, there was a figure climbing it—a good forty meters off the ground!

"What in the world is that thing?" Chen Meiling blurted out.

"It's not a thing," the little one replied.

Wu Tian was speechless. The little one's statement was right... but also not quite right.

Wu Tian had never been a merciful man. All of his compassion was reserved for his family; there was none left for anyone else.

"How can this be?" Wang Congming was at a loss. He quickly added, "Mr. Wu Tian, the Million Group has vast networks and resources! How about this? In the future, you can have access to any of our channels. What do you say?"

Wu Tian shot him a cold glance that sent a shiver down Wang Congming's spine. "Money isn't everything," Wu Tian said impatiently.

SLAP!

Wang Congming slapped himself across the face. He immediately realized how foolish it was to mention money in front of Wu Tian. But he was just so anxious and nervous that the words had tumbled out. Now, he truly didn't know what to do.

As Wu Tian remained silent, the little one piped up. "Actually, there is a way. If I ask, Daddy will definitely listen to me."

Wang Congming thought for a moment. She's right. He immediately turned to her. "Little friend, what would it take for you to help me? I can buy you any toy you want."

"Hmph! Toys? Those are for babies," the little one said unhappily, placing her hands on her hips with a sniff.

Wang Congming was dumbfounded. Aren't you a little kid?

Wang Congming didn't dare voice his thought aloud. He asked cautiously, "Then... what should I do?"

The little one giggled, then suddenly put on a serious expression. "Me? I'm not lacking for anything. Well, except for a disciple."

"What?" Wang Congming was utterly flabbergasted.
