Wu Tian hadn't expected them to actually send an envoy. He thought for a moment and asked, "What do you want me to do?" His tone was indifferent, as if such matters were no big deal in his eyes.
"I don't know either," Zheng Tianshi said from the other end of the line, shaking his head. He was happy to hear that Wu Tian's tone wasn't anxious. "Don't worry," he added, "someone will speak up for you."
"Whatever." Wu Tian truly didn't care. He had experienced far worse situations in the Immortal Emperor Realm. This incident was indeed serious, but for someone like him, who had weathered countless storms, it felt like nothing.
After talking with Zheng Tianshi for a while, he hung up and went to find a place to eat. He found a nice little food stall, only to discover the chef was in trouble.
"Can I give it a try?" Wu Tian asked.
"You?" The crowd was surprised at first, but after seeing who had spoken, they let out a collective sigh. The chef, not knowing who Wu Tian was, said irritably, "You don't look like a chef. What could you possibly do?"
Hearing this, Wu Tian laughed. "I really can give it a try."
Seeing Wu Tian insist, the chef frowned. "Do you even know how to make that... Pomfret Qiansi Noodles?"
"I can..." Wu Tian nodded instinctively, then added, "Sort of."
"What do you mean, 'sort of'? Is it fun to lie to me?!" the chef said indignantly. His brows furrowed even more. "Sir, I know you're trying to be helpful, but Qiansi Noodles are a unique local delicacy. How would you know how to make them?"
"I watched you cook once, so naturally, I learned," Wu Tian said with a shrug.
"You watched?" The chef scoffed. "And here I thought you actually knew how to cook it! You're telling me you think you can make it just because you watched me once?" He was quite disappointed; he had actually been somewhat hopeful. After all, this place had been his livelihood for over a decade.
