"Yes." Under the circumstances, Bai Yang was quick to admit it.
Wu Wo’s mind, however, worked faster than Bai Yang’s. He knew Wu Tian’s character well—ruthless and decisive. Making an enemy of him would never end well. Even if they told him the truth, Wu Tian probably wouldn’t let them go. With this in mind, Wu Wo immediately said, "Let us go, and we’ll release Wu Fa and his wife. Otherwise..."
Bai Yang looked at Wu Wo, hesitant. He felt something was off but couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
Noticing the change in Bai Yang’s expression, Wu Wo approached and whispered, "Master, trust me."
The last time he had trusted Wu Wo, he’d walked into a formation and was nearly beaten to death. Can I still trust him? Bai Yang was dejected.
"Master, trust me," Wu Wo urged more emphatically, his eyes filled with earnest sincerity as he stared at Bai Yang.
Such a sincere gaze moved Bai Yang, and he found himself nodding. "Alright. I will trust you one more time."
Wu Wo nodded, then turned to Wu Tian. "Did you hear that? If you want to save Wu Fa and his wife, let us leave. I’m telling you, if my master and I die, the rest of the Ghost Valley sect will kill that couple immediately. So, you’d better do as we say."
Wu Wo simply couldn’t believe that Wu Tian could be so ruthless as to abandon his own father. Wu Wo himself was capable of such a thing, but he refused to believe others could be as heartless and treacherous as he was.
Just as Wu Wo was convinced his plan would succeed, a cold glint flashed in Wu Tian’s eyes. "Kill them!" he ordered in a low voice.
Yin Fengxue, Liu Tianji, and the others nodded. At Wu Tian’s command, they all charged toward Bai Yang and Wu Wo.
Yin Fengxue was, after all, the Palace Master of the Heavenly Demon Palace, and Liu Tianji had once been one of the ten great elders of the Righteous Alliance. Their strength was far beyond anything Bai Yang and Wu Wo could hope to withstand.
"No!" Bai Yang panicked, finding himself at a disadvantage against Yin Fengxue.
Meanwhile, Wu Wo was utterly outmatched by Liu Tianji. "Master, save me!" he cried in terror.
Save you? Bai Yang wanted to scream. When Wu Wo was being battered by the giant stone hands and cried, "Master, save me!" Bai Yang had immediately rushed to his aid. But when Bai Yang had called for help, Wu Wo had completely ignored him. When Bai Yang had warned that something was strange up ahead and they shouldn’t enter, Wu Wo had insisted, "Master, trust me," leading them straight into the trap.
"Master, save me!"
"Master, trust me!"
Those two phrases from Wu Wo now filled Bai Yang with absolute disgust.
"No!" At that moment, Bai Yang was killed by Yin Fengxue’s hand.
And Wu Wo, of course, was toyed with and then killed by Liu Tianji. Before he died, Wu Tian used the Soul Searching Technique to discover the location of Wu Fa and Wang Cai.
It turned out that the Ghost Valley sect had once aided a certain Mr. Jiang in his attempt to seize the River and Mountains. Unfortunately, they were defeated and forced to retreat to an island. Unwilling to accept their fate of being cooped up on a small island, the sect eventually left and found their way to the Underground World.
So why was there no trace of Ghost Valley in the Underground World? Because the sect had swallowed its pride and became servants to the Diviner family, one of the Four Great Families among the world’s major powers. The Diviners, unaware of the Ghost Valley sect’s true identity, had taken them in.
The Diviners, who originated from the West, practiced a different art from fortune-telling. Divination could generally only perceive events that were currently happening or would happen in the future; it was incapable of probing into a person’s past. This meant the Ghost Valley sect had captured Wu Fa and hidden him among the Diviners, and the Diviners themselves had no idea.
Wu Tian looked at Liu Tianji. "The Diviners, where are they? Do you know?"
Liu Tianji and the others exchanged a glance and nodded. As it turned out, the Diviners’ home was not far from Peach Blossom Spring.
Wu Tian chuckled softly. I gave you a chance to be civil, and you spat on it? Fine. "Break down the door!" he commanded.
