In Xia Qian’s office at the Herbal Medicine Company.
"It’s been so long. Why hasn’t she come back to tell me what’s going on?" Xia Qian felt restless, with no mood to look at any more documents.
Just then...
TAP! TAP! TAP!
A burst of hurried footsteps echoed through the office as a security guard rushed in to report something. He was from the Cui Family and had been taught Formations by Wu Tian. The more he thought about the day’s events, the more he felt something was amiss. He knew he had to tell Xia Qian.
"President, there’s something I need to tell you."
"Go ahead," Xia Qian gently nodded. Security guards wouldn’t normally come up to bother her unless it was something important.
"Just now... I saw your secretary and Mr. Wu Tian leave the company together, and I found it strange. Did you ask her to go with him for something?" Because of the distance, the security guard didn’t get a clear look. He had no way of knowing that Wu Tian was unconscious.
"What?"
The guard’s words first startled Xia Qian, then her brow furrowed tightly.
What on earth happened? Why would Xiaolu leave with Wu Tian?
"We should have Xiaolu’s address in our employee records. Fetch it," Xia Qian ordered. She had an eerie feeling about this whole affair. A sense of impending misfortune made her feel restless.
Soon, Li Xiaolu’s address and other details were retrieved. The location of her rented apartment was now perfectly clear.
"Let’s go!"
Xia Qian, taking several people with her, left the company. In her heart, nothing was more important than Wu Tian’s well-being.

Meanwhile, in Li Xiaolu’s rented room, she was slowly waking up. Seeing herself stripped down to her underwear and noticing Wu Tian still unconscious beside her, she was ready to devour him.
But just as she was about to make her move, there was a knock on the door.
"Xiaolu, you’re in there, aren’t you? Hurry up and open the door!"
Hearing Xia Qian’s voice, Li Xiaolu panicked. Xia Qian had finally arrived.
Although she had prepared herself for this, it was her first time doing something of this nature. Excitement, risk, and fear—all sorts of emotions churned within her.
She immediately pretended to be asleep, snuggling up beside Wu Tian.
Outside, a security guard told Xia Qian that the door was locked from the inside, so someone must be in there.
Xia Qian knocked again. Receiving no response, her anxiety grew. "Break it down," she ordered.
The guards nodded and easily kicked the door open. Xia Qian and the others rushed in, only to stop in their tracks, dumbfounded by the scene that met their eyes.
Wu Tian and Li Xiaolu were under the same blanket.
Li Xiaolu feigned being startled awake, her eyes deliberately hazy. She then put on an expression of shock.
"Ah! How could this have happened?" she cried out, looking panic-stricken. "What am I going to do?"
Xia Qian and the others were even more dumbstruck. It took them a long moment to process what they were seeing.
"This... Xiaolu, tell me, what exactly is going on here?" Xia Qian’s voice was deep and low, thick with anger.
The guards didn’t dare to breathe too loudly, sensing the overpowering aura emanating from Xia Qian.
They thought they understood what she was thinking. Nothing had happened between her and Wu Tian, yet someone else had beaten her to the punch?
Hearing Xia Qian’s question, a flicker of panic crossed Li Xiaolu’s beautiful face, but she bit her lip and said, "Poppies... they can bewilder the mind, and the King of Poppies is exceptionally powerful."
"I... I didn’t expect Mr. Wu Tian to also... to be unable to resist the effects of the King of Poppies!" As she spoke, she began to cry. "He... he forced himself on me..."
Mr. Wu Tian is a god to us. But what is a god? Even one who does wrong must take responsibility! He must set an example!
A single slap sent her flying off the bed. Bright red blood splattered onto the floor.
Li Xiaolu lay sprawled on the ground, her pretty face now a swollen, bruised mess. Her eyes were wide with disbelief.
"You... you... why did you hit me? You..."
"You dare to scheme against me? Do you know how to write the word ’death’?" Wu Tian’s eyes were ice-cold and merciless. In his view, this woman was already dead.
Don’t think I won’t kill you just because you’re a woman!
Endless shock filled Li Xiaolu’s eyes. She still refused to admit it, breaking into sobs. "You... in your madness, you were completely unconscious! Of course you don’t know what you did! I didn’t lie to you, I really didn’t!"
"I know you and Qin Yuhan are husband and wife! I won’t interfere with your family."
"Why... why did you hit me?"
"If you have to kill me just to ease your own conscience, then go ahead and kill me!"
"Why is my life so miserable!"
Her sobs were so pitiful that even the security guards were moved, feeling sorry for her.
"Still acting?" Wu Tian snorted. With a wave of his hand, the woman’s head instantly flew from her shoulders.
The eyes on the severed head were wide with shock and disbelief. Even in death, she couldn’t fathom that Wu Tian would kill her so decisively.
"About this matter..." Xia Qian started to say.
Wu Tian cut her off. "I don’t want to explain."
At the same time, his Spiritual Sense detected something, and his expression turned grim. "Bats blotting out the sun in broad daylight," he said coldly. "Besides a movie, where have you ever seen a sight like that?"
