The moment the skills activated, the dark battlefield took on the light of red rage, and at the same time white and crimson effects burst across the sky as Valkyries of wrath appeared, clad in blackish-red armor and bearing black wings, and began to blow their trumpets.
Buuuuuuuuuu!!
The sound of the trumpets of wrath blown by the Valkyries.
It was the prelude announcing a festival of blood.
Before long, as the trumpet blasts covered Tartarus—
"Uaaahhhhhh!!"
"Gaaahhh!!"
"Die!! Die!! Die!!"
"You damned bastard!!"
Just as it had been during the Olympomachy, the Titans and the Resentment Soldiers once again began madly fighting one another, thrusting spears and blades at each other.
"This is impossible...!"
A blood-splattered battlefield of madness.
There were only two there who still retained their sanity.
Su-ho, the owner of rage, and Cronos, who had become the lord of Tartarus.
He truly was Cronos.
His eyes had turned red, but with his higher rank and superhuman mental strength, he kept his sanity even amid the sound of the trumpets of wrath.
Su-ho looked at Cronos and laughed.
"As expected, a leader really is different."
"Shut up! I'll show you right now that cheap, underhanded sorcery like this doesn't work on me!"
Cronos, now thoroughly enraged, lifted his weapon high.
Then something astonishing happened.
As though lightning were falling, an energy like black mist came dropping from the sky and began condensing into Cronos's weapon.
Cronos's eyes turned crimson.
Before long, after compressing that energy to its utmost, Cronos swung it out over the battlefield of frenzy, and the black energy spread in all directions before soon halting the excitement of the berserkers.
"Ah..."
"What in the..."
"How..."
The Titans, regaining their senses too late, muttered self-mocking words, but soon steadied themselves and began focusing on recovery.
The destroyed Resentment Soldiers also began regenerating.
"I figured it wouldn't last long."
Su-ho clicked his fingers in disappointment.
At once, the Subspace House opened again, and the Olympian gods who had been forcibly dragged inside came flying back out.
Zeus, fired up, flew over to Su-ho's side.
He too had seen everything from inside the Subspace House.
"What did you just do?"
"You can tell just by looking, can't you? I used on them the exact same thing you all suffered once. But then Cronos did something by himself and blocked it all."
"I was watching too. That was probably Night."
"Night?"
"Yes. The power of Nyx, goddess of night. I knew Cronos had gone over to Nyx's side, but I didn't know he had directly inherited and could wield her power in this way."
Zeus's expression was grave.
It could not be otherwise.
The power Nyx wielded, Night, was a purer and stronger energy than the magic power or divine power they wielded.
But Su-ho did not worry.
"So, you've lost your nerve?"
"Nonsense. I never said I'd lost my nerve."
"Right. That kind of mindset is what matters. Then fight now. Before, I only pulled you all out for a bit because I didn't want you getting caught up in it too."
"Hm!"
Now that he knew Rage Field and Frenzy Valhalla would not work, all that remained was close combat.
But perhaps because he had just seen Night?
With the environmental conditions already leaving him unable to bring out even twenty percent of the power he once had, Zeus lacked confidence.
Still, he could not show it.
He was the king of Olympus.
The leader's momentum breaking would immediately lead to a drop in morale for the entire force.
Su-ho, knowing that well, said to Zeus with a smile,
"You've got a lot on your mind, huh? But don't worry. When did I ever tell you all to fight and win? You're just extras in my fight anyway. At least here in Tartarus."
"What?"
"Seeing once is better than hearing a hundred times. I'll show you right now. Jack?"
- I was waiting for that!
The moment Su-ho called Jack's name, Jack, who had been waiting, leaped out from the shadows and began chanting shadow magic.
[ Umbra's Shadow Legacy is activated. ]
[ Hollow Jack, King of the Shadow Divine Beasts, summons Typhon. ]
A system notification.
The shadow magic Jack had recited was none other than the summoning spell for Typhon, the ultimate weapon in his possession.
Kugugugugugugu!
"......!!"
"......!!"
"......!!"
"......!!"
Typhon's appearance.
At that appearance, Cronos and the Titans were shocked.
"......!!"
"......!!"
"......!!"
"......!!"
And all the Olympian gods at Su-ho's side, Zeus included, were shocked as well.
Among them, there was only one person not shocked at all.
Su-ho, the master of the Shadow Divine Beast Typhon.
Su-ho looked at all their astonished faces and smiled brightly.
"Well? Still not confident?"
"How do you have Typhon...?!"
"I was the one who defeated him, so why wouldn't I be able to summon him? Honestly, I put a lot of work into this. So don't get discouraged so easily. I didn't come here thoughtlessly."
His face was smiling brightly, but the confidence pouring from that smile was truly reassuring.
Then Su-ho shifted his gaze to Cronos and sent him a thought.
- Well? A familiar face, isn't it?
- How dare you...!
- How what? I went through the Gigantomachy, so that's why this is in my grasp. And.
When Su-ho tilted his head, Jack chanted another spell.
[ Umbra's Shadow Legacy is activated. ]
[ Hollow Jack, King of the Shadow Divine Beasts, summons the Black Shadow Dragon. ]
"Kiaaaaaaaah!!"
A huge chunk of True Demon was drained away.
In exchange, above Su-ho and Typhon, the enormous Black Shadow Dragon revealed itself with a mighty cry.
And that wasn't all.
[ Hollow Jack, King of the Shadow Divine Beasts, summons the Black Army. ]
Hwaaaak!
With a blackish-red burst of light, an army of Shadow Knights appeared, far too numerous to compare with the Resentment Soldiers.
- I've got plenty of soldiers to boast about too.
At Su-ho's light provocation, Cronos furrowed his brow.
Then he raised a hand and once more summoned his weapon into his grasp.
"All forces, prepare for battle."
At Cronos's order, the Titans drew their weapons.
And shouted,
"Wipe them all out!!"
"Kuh-ooooooh!!"
The Titans charged forward with ferocious momentum.
The Resentment Soldiers did the same.
The war had begun.
At long last, the full-scale Tartarusmachy had begun.
"Go tear them apart!"
In response, Su-ho's shadow legion also charged at Cronos's forces.
