Su-ho flew toward Noctarion riding Cheolma.
The others flew after him as well.
Roynan, flying beside him, pointed somewhere with his hand.
“That is Noctarion.”
Noctarion.
The place where every vampire in this world gathered and lived.
Under the dark crimson sky, the place was surrounded by endless walls stretching endlessly like the Great Wall itself.
It was a fascinating sight.
It almost made him think this was what the fortresses of ancient China must have looked like.
However, something even more astonishing than that existed beyond the vast walls spread across the horizon.
Farther beyond them rose an even taller and broader crimson wall.
That was Red Maria, called the end of the Noctarion Empire.
Su-ho stopped in front of Noctarion’s entrance.
He still floated in the air.
The reason he assumed this place was the entrance to Noctarion was because it looked exactly like an entrance no matter who saw it.
Hovering in the air, Su-ho asked,
“So how many of these walls do we have to cross to reach Middle Town?”
“Yes, that is correct.”
“Really?”
Su-ho stared at the walls for a moment.
Then he shifted his gaze toward distant Red Maria.
The temple was not visible.
But since Roynan had said Middle Town stood before Red Maria, this direction should roughly be correct.
The corner of Su-ho’s lips slowly curled upward.
Seeing that smile, Jack spoke.
- That expression says you just thought of something entertaining.
“How did you know?”
- It’s written all over your face.
“Oh, something did come to mind.”
- What is it?
“Watch.”
Su-ho raised his hand.
At the same time, a system notification appeared and the Blood Sword formed in his grasp.
He gathered power into the Blood Sword in his hand.
Crackle!
With that sound, pure white currents began flowing across Su-ho’s sword.
[ Extermination of Evil activates. ]
The flowing current was Extermination of Evil.
Su-ho poured a tremendous amount of mana into it.
As he did, Extermination of Evil twisted violently like a loach sprinkled with salt, and Su-ho swung the writhing holy art toward Middle Town with all his strength.
CRAAAAACKLE!!
The unleashed Extermination of Evil shot straight toward Red Maria.
Perhaps because so much mana had been infused into it, the Extermination of Evil flying toward Red Maria resembled a thunderbolt transformed into a serpent crawling through the sky.
Its speed was tremendous as well.
Naturally so, considering it resembled lightning.
Eventually, after flying for a long time, Extermination of Evil collided with something at a certain point and exploded violently.
KRAAAAAASH!!
A deafening roar rang out.
The Extermination of Evil that had looked ready to tear through Middle Town like a dragon was astonishingly destroyed in midair.
Seeing that, Su-ho narrowed his eyes and asked Roynan,
“Where exactly was that?”
“It appeared to be around First Town.”
“Really?”
I see.
So that was where the royals lived, huh?
Still, Sachsen would probably sigh if he saw this.
He had passed down Extermination of Evil as the greatest offensive holy art representing the Paladins, yet here it was unable to even break through to First Town.
Crossing his arms, Su-ho quietly waited for their response.
How much time had passed?
He almost laughed.
Quite a bit of time had gone by, yet there was absolutely no reaction from the other side.
“Wow... aren’t they ignoring this a little too much? Their royal palace just got attacked. Shouldn’t someone at least come out and check what happened?”
“Haha...”
Roynan laughed awkwardly.
When Su-ho gestured for an explanation, Roynan opened his mouth.
“Speaking as a former High Blood... since the attack could not even break through the Veil Barrier, they likely do not consider it worthy of attention in the first place.”
“What a classy way to look down on someone.”
The response was so overwhelmingly arrogant that Su-ho could only shake his head.
Having grasped reality, Su-ho gestured forward.
“Let’s go. I provoked them just in case, but if they are not interested, we will just have to make sure they become interested.”
“Yes, understood.”
Su-ho immediately drove Cheolma forward and crossed the Iron Line.
The moment they crossed the Iron Line, Third Town, where the Normals and Unders lived, came into view.
Surprisingly, they resembled humble peasants living in some small medieval European territory.
Because, unexpectedly enough, they were farming.
While flying, Su-ho asked,
“Aren’t they vampires? Why are they farming?”
“Normals and Unders receive the blood they require through plants. The sap of Bloodwood Trees is their primary food source, so you may think of them as spending nearly every day cultivating Bloodwood Trees.”
“To be born a vampire and still not even get to properly drink blood. That is a pretty pitiful life in many ways.”
As Su-ho’s group passed through Third Town, the vampires busy farming Bloodwood Trees were startled by the sudden flying objects and pointed toward the group.
But that was all.
None of them followed Su-ho.
Later, he learned that Normals and Unders lacked the ability to fly.
Only nobles and above could fly through the air.
‘No wonder the upper classes look down on the lower ones.’
When the very power they possessed was different, how could they ever be treated equally?
Third Town was far larger than expected.
Moreover, there were no tall buildings. Every structure was a single-story building, while most of the land was devoted to Bloodwood Tree farming.
After flying for quite some time, they finally saw the Third Line leading to Second Town.
Su-ho crossed the Third Line without hesitation.
There was no barrier.
