But since the paper was facing away from him, it was inconvenient to read. He immediately stood up and walked around to Anastasia's side with his hands behind his back.
Anastasia paid him no mind, her pen still moving swiftly and confidently across the page.
By the time she wrote down the last ingredient, Aubrey, standing behind her, was completely astonished. Before her pen had even left the paper, the notebook was snatched from in front of her.
Aubrey stared at it again and again, his expression a mix of shock, fascination, and then ecstatic joy.
Finally, he grabbed Anastasia's arm. "Where did you learn this?!"
Anastasia smiled faintly. "I figured it out myself, of course."
"You?" The old man looked at her skeptically, completely unconvinced.
Putting aside her young age, the fact that she had written all this down with almost no hesitation... how could she have thought of it herself?!
If that were true, what kind of genius would she have to be!
Anastasia stood up. "I can understand why you don't believe me, sir, but I really did figure it out myself. It's just that I've seen this prescription before—it was something my mother left behind."
In fact, she had completed this prescription in her previous life.
Back then, Queena had won the bid. By a stroke of luck, Anastasia discovered the prescription had belonged to her mother. She later managed to learn its contents and, while locked away in the villa by Aaron Lancaster and Penelope Sterling, she had completed it out of boredom.
Though even back then, it hadn't taken her much time.
Aubrey, however, didn't know any of this. He assumed she must have had ample time to complete it, and the skepticism on his face finally began to fade.
He was somewhat surprised. "I came across this prescription by chance. Who is your mother?"
Cecilia herself was so gifted, so why couldn't her daughter be the same?
Aubrey, delighted by this new talent, asked, "Where are you studying now?"
"I've applied to Medical School for college..."
Before she could finish, the old man interrupted with a frown. "With your talent, isn't going to a regular Medical School a waste? Without a capable mentor to guide you, how can you fully realize your potential!"
"What do you think of me? This old man wouldn't dare claim to be the best in Veridia, but I have some skills. I'm more than qualified to be your teacher." Though his words were modest, Aubrey's tone was quite proud.
And he certainly had the right to be. He might not be number one in Veridia, but he was definitely in the top three.
Many people dreamed of studying under him, yet most couldn't even get an audience, let alone have him personally offer to take them as a student!
