And he had the nerve to say her mind was dark?
Anastasia scoffed. Since he was being shameless, she wouldn't be polite either—
“That Ms. Lawson is the other woman, of course! Does growing up together give them a free pass to be so familiar? It might be one thing if they were both single, but he’s married. What does it look like for him to do something so intimate with Ms. Lawson? Do you not care about your own daughter's reputation at all?”
The phrase “the other woman” shocked the surrounding guests. No one expected her to be so blunt!
Morgan's face turned a shade of green.
This was his daughter’s birthday party! Anastasia's attitude showed a complete disregard for the Lawson family!
He said in a low voice, “Harrison! Aren’t you going to control the person by your side?!”
Harrison remained unmoved. “Ana has a point. Your suggestion, Mr. Lawson, was indeed inappropriate.”
Naomi looked hurt and embarrassed. “Harrison, you know my father didn't mean anything by it. If you didn’t want to, you could have just said no. Why did you have to let this… Ms. Sterling, say such ugly things?”
Anastasia wanted to roll her eyes.
Morgan didn't mean anything by it? Did he take everyone for a fool?
And this Ms. Lawson was quite good at playing dumb!
Harrison turned to her, his expression immediately softening. With a polite but distant, “Excuse us,” to the Lawsons, he let the girl beside him lead him away.
He left the others standing there in awkward silence.
The people who had been fawning over Naomi just moments before were now completely quiet.
Harrison's stance was crystal clear. He had no eyes for Naomi; on the contrary, he was incredibly indulgent and caring toward his Ana.
As for the idea that she would soon have to make way for Naomi… no one had the nerve to say that now.
