Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 910

Glancing over at Naomi, he asked, "Is something wrong? Did they upset you?"

"Yes!" Anastasia didn't hesitate to tell on them for a second. She pointed a slender finger back at the group. "They ganged up on me, saying I'm not good enough for you and that Ms. Lawson is your perfect match!"

She delivered the last line with a deliberately sarcastic tone.

The man's handsome face instantly darkened as he looked over at them.

The group was stunned. Who would have thought Anastasia would actually tattle on them? Shouldn't she have just swallowed her pride and kept it to herself?

After all, they weren't wrong. Her family background and talents were nothing compared to Naomi's. Besides, Naomi had grown up with Harrison, and people had always said they were destined to marry!

When they met Harrison's gaze, the ones who had been so arrogant just moments before turned pale and froze.

"Whether my wife is good enough for me is not for you to decide," Harrison said, his voice cold as ice.

Cold sweat poured down their faces. "Mr. Harrison Lancaster, we spoke without thinking. Please, don't hold it against us..."

Naomi bit her lip. "Harrison, they didn't mean any harm to Ms. Sterling. They were just being a little too blunt..."

But Harrison didn't spare her feelings in the slightest. "And another thing. I thought I'd made myself clear. I am not that close with Ms. Lawson, and I don't want to hear any more of that absurd nonsense."

His words were a clear warning aimed at Naomi.

Naomi's eyes instantly turned red with a mix of humiliation and hurt.

But Harrison remained completely unmoved. He took Anastasia's hand and said, "Since there's nothing entertaining here, let's go home."

Harrison didn't consider himself close to Naomi, but she was interested in him and had often found excuses to visit the Lancaster estate, so she was naturally quite familiar with Mary.

In fact, since Mary worked directly for Harrison and Naomi saw herself as his future wife, she was particularly friendly with Mary, often saying she treated her like an elder.

It was hard to say how much of Naomi's decision to take Mary in was based on genuine affection, but she was undoubtedly hoping to use her to get closer to Harrison.

She probably assumed that after so many years of service, Mary's bond with Harrison was unshakable. She likely thought Harrison's current distance from Mary was a temporary, impulsive thing, and that by taking Mary in, she would earn his gratitude later on.

But she didn't know that Mary had already committed an unforgivable offense in Harrison's eyes. If it hadn't been for the matriarch, Mary wouldn't have been allowed to remain with the Lancaster family at all.

Now that she understood why Mary was there, Anastasia didn't give it another thought.

Just then, Mary spotted her, and her expression instantly twisted with venomous hatred.
