Mignon's face immediately darkened. The late night at the office had left her looking slightly tired, which only made her aura more imposing.

"I'll go speak to your grandfather. This isn't happening, don't worry." After reassuring her son, Mignon went straight to Mr. Hill Sr.'s study.

She was gone for over half an hour before she returned.

"Mom, what did Grandpa say?"

"He won't back down for now. He says he won't force you, but you have to at least meet her. If you don't like her, he'll drop the matter."

She explained, "Your grandfather truly dotes on you, which is why your uncles are using him as a pawn. They've filled his head with nonsense and convinced him that this Naomi girl is some one-in-a-million catch, a perfect match for you. That's why he's so set on this."

She scoffed in displeasure. "After your father passed away, I ran the family business for so many years. Your uncles can't stand it."

Lester asked gently, "Is there something wrong with Naomi?"

"There are a few issues with Naomi. I've looked into her. She's capable enough, but I don't approve of her character. But the bigger problem is the Lawson family."

"The Lawson family?"

"That's right. The Lawson family of old would have been a suitable match. You're going to be the head of the family one day, and a wife with a powerful family behind her would be a great asset. That's the argument your uncles used to convince your grandfather."

Mignon sneered at his words. "The company may still be in his name, but that's only because I'm showing your grandfather respect. I could change the name to Calderon anytime I want! After all, this is ours, not the Hill family's! What does it have to do with them?"
