Revenge is My Love Language novel Chapter 973

"I wanted to chat about your ex-husband," Anastasia said, getting straight to the point.

Susan's face changed dramatically. "I don't know what you're talking about!" she blurted out.

"Why so agitated, Mrs. Young?" Anastasia looked at her in surprise. "I heard you and your ex-husband had a normal divorce. What's so taboo about mentioning it?"

Susan stared at Anastasia, her mind racing with suspicion.

Did Anastasia know something? From her expression, she seemed clueless, but for her to show up so suddenly and immediately bring up Boris couldn't be a coincidence.

Susan put her guard up, forcing herself to remain calm. "Ms. Sterling, if you have something to say, please just say it!"

Anastasia smiled faintly and casually took a seat. "I heard your ex-husband was released from prison?"

Susan's heart sank again. Anastasia even knew Boris had been in prison for years; she must have investigated him. What else had she found out?

Her mind reeled as she quickly reviewed her meetings with Boris since his release. She had been so careful, meeting him in secret. Anastasia couldn't possibly know, could she?

"Yes… He made some mistakes and went to prison. I never thought he was that kind of person, and I couldn't accept it, so I divorced him before he was incarcerated."

Unsure of Anastasia's motives, Susan was extremely wary and chose her words carefully, leaving Anastasia no room to attack.

Anastasia nodded. "I hear your ex-husband was away for many years. Lennon and Crystal were just toddlers when you separated. Now that he's out, and Lennon and Crystal are all grown up, don't you plan on letting them meet their biological father?"

Susan immediately retorted, "As you said, Ms. Sterling, they were too young to remember. They grew up with Ryan and have always called him Dad. Even without a blood tie, their relationship is no different from that of a real father and his children. As for Boris, I was a poor judge of character back then. Now that I know he's a scumbag, how could I let Crystal and the others have any contact with him?"

The moment she was gone, Susan felt as if she'd been plunged into an ice cave. She frantically called Boris.

"Have you been talking nonsense to anyone?!"

Boris, who had just received a large sum of money from Susan, was out living it up. The sudden, accusatory phone call put him in a foul mood. "What are you talking about?"

"You know what I'm talking about! Boris, you wanted money, and I gave it to you. You can't ruin me!"

Susan's voice was fraught with anxiety, with an undertone of pleading.

"Hmph, gave it to me? Where's the million I asked for? I'll give you two more days. If the money doesn't arrive, don't blame me for telling the Lancasters everything!"
