With a thud, Jiang Cheng’s hand instantly grasped the electric baton in the space.
She patted her face, trying to wake herself up a bit.
No way!
Not enough!
Jiang Cheng unscrewed the cap of the military canteen and splashed water on her face.
The already cold water made her feel a bit more alert.
A somewhat rejuvenated Jiang Cheng poured the remaining water over Director Lian’s head.
"Sister Lian?"
"Sister Lian?"
Director Lian slowly woke up, her mind foggy, looking at Jiang Cheng who was gesturing for her to be quiet.
"There’s a bad guy."
Jiang Cheng whispered, swiftly handing a kitchen knife to Director Lian.
Director Lian held the kitchen knife, her brain rebooting several times.
A kitchen knife? For what?
A click, the sound of the door latch being pried open.
Jiang Cheng stood behind the door, and Director Lian, following her lead, held the kitchen knife, continuing to feign sleep, her heart pounding with fear.
Footsteps got closer, someone pushing open the door.
Director Lian’s eyelids trembled, encountering such a situation for the first time, it was terrifying.
The door creaked open, pushed from the outside.
A foot stepped in first, a low laugh echoing in the silent night.
"Little beauty... I’m here... Ahhh——-"
The exclamation, rising and falling, like a donkey’s bray, reverberated.
Sparks crackled in Jiang Cheng’s hand, and after a dozen seconds, with a thud, the person fell to the ground.
The fallen person convulsed, twitching incessantly.
"It’s okay now, Sister Lian!"
Jiang Cheng flicked on the flashlight, illuminating the twitching figure on the ground, and kicked out with her left foot!
Aimed straight at the triangle area.
"Dare to make a move on me, really asking for it like a birthday star hanging himself."
While speaking, Jiang Cheng gave a couple more kicks.
Director Lian on the kang shifted from fear to bewilderment.
Is it over just like that?
None of the scenarios she imagined happened.
The key point is that the kitchen knife wasn’t even used!
Director Lian looked at the person on the ground and asked:
"Who is this?"
Jiang Cheng withdrew her foot, shaking her head.
"I don’t know, first wake up the team leader, then immediately go find Director Lu and the others."
"Yes, yes!"
Director Lian put on her shoes, scooping a ladle of cold water.
With a splash, the team leader and his wife were awakened.
The two listened to Director Lian, their first reaction was, are we dreaming?
Who would dare drug the team leader and then break into the house to cause trouble?
But when they saw the man tied up by Jiang Cheng, they almost exploded in anger.
The team leader kicked at the tied-up man wildly.
"I’ll kill you, you bastard!"
"You turtle’s son!"
The team leader’s wife hurriedly pulled him back.
"A few more kicks will do, but he can’t die here!"
The team leader gave a couple more kicks and finally stopped, staring at the man, looking him up and down.
"Who the hell is this?"
The team leader’s wife studied him for a moment and said: "Seems like Zhao Lao Gada’s nephew, he came a few days ago."
After hearing this, the team leader first looked at Jiang Cheng.
"Jiang Cheng, I swear to you, this has nothing to do with us!"
"If I knew this beast dared to do such a thing, I would have personally skinned him alive!"
Jiang Cheng remained calm.
"Team Leader, I know your character well."
The team leader saw that Jiang Cheng wasn’t blaming him, feeling even more guilty.
