Rich Radiant and Over Him (Alicia and Vincent) novel Chapter 384

“Dad wants Tyrone to invest? Mayfield Lawson literally tried to have Tyrone killed not long ago. Do you really think Tyrone’s lost his mind enough to put money into Lawson & Co.?” Vincent feigned ignorance, pretending not to catch Stephen’s drift.

As far as Vincent was concerned, Stephen just wanted Tyrone’s money.

Stephen’s expression darkened for a moment, but he swallowed his frustration and tried again. “Vincent, you and Tyrone have been friends for years. If you approach him sincerely, he’ll at least consider it. He’s got more money than he knows what to do with—even if he won’t work with us, we can’t let him side with the competition. Evercrest Group’s been stepping all over Lawson & Co. for years. If Tyrone teams up with them…”

Stephen was torn between his fear of Tyrone siding with Evercrest Group and his own scheme—using a bogus project to drain Tyrone’s fortune.

The task he’d been given by the shadowy figure behind the scenes had to be completed. Only by swindling Tyrone out of his money could he kill two birds with one stone: Tyrone would be ruined, unable to make a comeback, and Evercrest wouldn’t get their hands on him either.

“Dad, you know what Tyrone’s like. He’s unpredictable, holds grudges, and his moods swing like a pendulum. After Mayfield tried to have him run down, Tyrone almost killed him—would have, if I hadn’t shown up and talked him down for hours. Getting him to invest in Lawson & Co.… that’s not going to be easy.” Vincent’s meaning was clear, his words loaded with implication.

Stephen was a wily old fox, but even he couldn’t always outmaneuver Vincent.

He hesitated for a long moment, staring at Vincent. “Vincent, this investment has to go through. If Tyrone invests in Lawson & Co.… I’ll make sure you’re well rewarded.”

“What kind of reward?” Vincent cut straight to the point. “Let’s set the terms now.”

“You’ve always wanted a stake, haven’t you? If Tyrone invests, I’ll give you your shares up front,” Stephen offered, playing his only card.

Still, Stephen was confident. Even if he handed over the shares, Vincent was his son—he’d never escape his grasp.

“Alright. I’ll figure something out.” Vincent nodded, a sly smile tugging at his lips.

As he left the office, Vincent nearly collided with Mayfield and Mina Holloway in the hallway.
