“Sorry, but Tyrone isn’t an idiot. He won’t be swayed without seeing the transfer of shares, especially since…” Vincent paused, a slight smirk playing at his lips. “I just got a call—Tyrone’s already preparing to invest in Evercrest Group. Frankly, your offer’s too late. Even if you handed me my shares right now, it’s out of my hands. Unless…”
Vincent let his words hang, pushing his luck.
“Unless what?” Stephen snapped, slamming his hand on the table in frustration.
Vincent studied him, curious about the shadowy figure behind Stephen—just how dangerous was this person to leave Stephen this rattled?
“Unless you hand over your shares to me now. All of them,” Vincent said coolly.
He no longer bothered to hide his intentions. This move was a gamble: if he played it right, he’d seize control of Lawson & Co. If he failed, he could be tossed out entirely.
For years, he’d been careful and patient. All it had brought him was Stephen and those illegitimate sons getting bolder, encroaching on his territory. He was out of options—he had to make a bold move.
“Vincent!” Stephen stared at him in disbelief. “You’re here to rob me blind, aren’t you?”
“You’re my father. I’m your only son with Mom. If you don’t give me your shares, what—are you planning to split them among those bastards? Lawson & Co. wouldn’t be what it is today without me. Are you really going to hand over your shares to those incompetent fools and put the company at risk?” Vincent’s voice was low and steely.
Stephen scoffed. “You really are ruthless, aren’t you? Eager to get your hands on everything I own.”
Vincent arched an eyebrow. “Whether you give them to me is up to you.”
“And what if I do? What if you can’t secure Tyrone’s investment after all?” Stephen narrowed his eyes, skeptical.
