Chapter 100 The Stones‘ Request
Baron’s POV
My blood was still roaring.
The scent of Natalie – lilies, honey and that intoxicating heat that was uniquely hers – clung to my lungs.
I stood by the bed, my hand hovering near the post, my cock hard and knuckles white.
I looked down at her.

She was flushed, her lips slightly swollen, her eyes wide and dark with a mixture of shock and something that looked dangerously
like desire.
I felt the hoarseness in my own voice when I spoke, my cock hardening by the minute.
“Do you really think I’m fit to go out there like this?” I asked, as we both stared down at the bulge in my pants.
Natalie’s face burned even hotter now, a vivid crimson spreading across her face.
She looked away, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear with a hand that still trembled.
She cleared her throat, her voice dropping to a stubborn mutter. “I don’t care – just go handle it.”
The dismissive tone was a shield, but I only found it endearing. It was the spark of the woman who had once pulled a knife out of my chest.
“Fine, freshen yourself up. I’ll step out first.” I drew in a long, steadying breath and finally turned to open the door.
“I heard you,” I growled through clenched teeth as I stepped into the hallway.
Susie blinked up at me, her head tilted, trying to peer past my legs into the room.
Her eyes were wide with that innocent curiosity that was currently the bane of my existence. “Daddy, what were you doing? Why’d it take so long to open the door? Where’s Mommy? I want Mommy!”
“She just had her stitches removed… she needs rest. You’re coming with me.”
Before she could wiggle further inside or catch a glimpse of Natalie’s dishevelment, I scooped her up by the back of her collar like a mischievous pup and carried her out into the corridor.
I marched her down the hall where Shauna was hovering near the intersection of the wings, looking like she was trying to blend into the wallpaper to avoid my wrath.
I called her back sharply.
“Where’s Sean?” I demanded.
“In his room, sir,” Shauna replied, her voice steady despite the tension. “Working through the last of the green powder ditok. He’s resting comfortably.”

I nodded, satisfied, and dropped a pouting Susie into Shauna’s arms. “Keep her with you. Don’t let het pother Natalie for the next

hour. She needs to integrate the grafts in peace.”
Susie’s lips puckered into a massive pout, her small arms crossing over her chest.
“Daddy’s mean! You get to be with Mommy all the time, but I can’t even say hi? Not fair!”
“It’s not a conspiracy, Susie. It’s because I’m not as noisy as you,” I said lazily, the smirk tugging at my mouth.
“You bully me! I’m going to tell Mommy you’re not being fair!” Her pitchy voice echoed down the hallway as Shauna carried the tiny pup toward the playroom.
My mouth curved despite the frustration of the moment. The taste of Natalie still lingered on my tongue. For the first time, she hadn’t pulled away… she’d wanted it, even if she wasn’t ready to admit it yet.
Tonight, I told myself, I’d finally get to sleep in her warmth instead of the cold silence of my study.
Whistling softly, I adjusted my cuffs and strolled into the main reception room. I expected a courier or perhaps a local pack leader seeking a favor.
But the man standing by the window made me pause.
“Alpha Stone?”
The visitor stood quickly, his movements evident of power.
It was Flynn Stone, the eldest son of the Stone–Caravan Pack that had provided the bulk of the tissue for Natalie’s transformation.
He looked weary, the usual vibrant energy of his bloodline dampened by a heavy shroud of worry.
“Alpha Baron,” Flynn said, bowing his head in a gesture of respect. “Forgive the intrusion. I know the villa is under medical lockdown, but I’ve come with a desperate request.”
I crossed the room, “speak, Flynn. For what your family gave my woman, you have earned my ear. Anything within my power is yours for the asking.”
Flynn exhaled, a visible tremor in his shoulders easing. “I heard through the merchant registries that you have direct ties to the Witch Doctor. My mother… she’s fallen critically ill. It happened two days ago – a sudden, violent coagulation disorder. Our pack doctors are baffled, they suspect it’s a delayed reaction linked to the mass skin donation.”
