Chapter 15 Sharon’s Revenge

Sharon’s POV

The hospital room smelled faintly of antiseptic, but I had added my touch–the faint sweetness of lilies my mom brought to disguise the metal in the air.

When Jensen assigned Clark to me. I knew I had to use him. He said it was for my safety, that the pack wanted to make sure I was comfortable while I recovered.

I smiled while letting him believe I needed protection, and Clark was exactly what I expected -too disciplined, too careful, and loyal in a way that made him predictable.

My wolf approved of him immediately, not because he was strong but because he was bendable.

He looks weak,‘ my wolf Kayla said with disdain.

I called softly, faking an urgent need to drag him in, “Clark.. I need your help with something. Can you come in?”

He appeared instantly, his hands by his side, looking everywhere but at my face.

“Yes, Ms. Sharon,” he said, voice low

“Luna… I’m your Luna,” I corrected him with the sweetest voice I could muster while boiling inside.

Jensen had tried to keep our mate bond from the public, and now it seemed like the perfect time to announce it.

“So sorry about that, Luna,” he said, still avoiding eye contact.

I let my fingers brush the hospital gown, faking clumsiness, letting him step closer. “I… I can’t fix this. I need your hands.”

He bent closer, but I moved faster, just enough to strip the fabric where I needed it, just enough for the camera.

He froze, his heart hammering so loud I could hear it.

I snapped the photo; the glow of the screen reflected in his wide, startled eyes.

“Perfect,” I whispered, letting my voice be soft and lethal at once.

because if Jensen ever sees this… if he ever sees how you’ve assaulted his mate… you won’t like the consequences.”

His hands clenched, he stared at me with this cold gaze, but he didn’t step back. I half expected him to attack but he didn’t, at least, not now.

He would help me get rid of that bitch named Natalie. I hated her from the first time I saw her; I wish I had gotten rid of her from the start after she took my family from me.

Even after she left my family, she went after the man I wanted. For five years she clung to him, pretending she alone could hear the old language, pretending she mattered more than me. Pretending she could touch the Alpha’s legacy.

“She can’t… we’re born to rule by the alpha’s side… not Natalie or that good–for–nothing Kael can stop that. Kayla mumbled in my head.

I smiled slowly, knowing the control I had over him. “Clark,” I whispered now, “I want you watching Natalie; the second she’s alone–grab her. I don’t want you to just hurt her; I want her soul muted. Sever her connection to the Old Tongue, and she will never hear a whisper from an Archive stone again. Never.”

Blood drained from his face; he wanted to resist, but I waved my phone at him. He couldn’t refuse; I had him at my mercy.

“Killing Natalie would raise questions, but breaking her would not…” I leaned forward, letting my gaze pierce him. “She’s clung to my mate’s glory for five years. Pretended she was the Last Transcriber, that she was indispensable. No, she’s nothing. And I… I am everything.”

His throat worked. “I… I understand, Ms. Sharon he said as I glared at him.

“Luna.”

“Then go,” I said. “I need results by the next moonrise, no excuses.”

I leaned back, savoring it. Even the Alpha’s guard–the strongest, most disciplined–was now mine to command. My power was almost intoxicating.

I’m sure she’s out there with no idea how her life is about to come crashing down.

When she realizes what I’ve done, when she feels the whispers die in her ears, she will see me. And she will know how it feels to be completely worthless.

I patted my pillows beneath me and waved him away. Every step, every word, every movement–it all led here. I had them right where I wanted.
