Chapter 221 Guess Who’s Pregnant Now
Natalie’s POV
The world seemed to slow down as the dark arc of coffee–sliced through the air.
I saw the steam rising from the liquid, but I didn’t flinch
I simply sat there watching the woman I had once respected crumble into a common harpy.
“What are you doing?”
Chris moved before the first drop could even touch the lapel of my charcoal suit, his hand shot out.
He seized Loretta’s wrist mid–air.

The coffee splashed harmlessly back onto the table, droplets spraying onto Loretta’s own expensive cream silk blouse and the side of her face.
The entire café seemed to freeze.
The waitress approaching with a tray of desserts stopped so abruptly that the glasses rattled against porcelain.
Two older shifters seated near the window instinctively lowered their voices, their eyes widening as they watched the former Luna of the Nightfang Pack nearly drench herself with scalding coffee.
Steam curled upward between us.
Chris tightened his grip another fraction.
Not enough to truly injure her.
Just enough to remind her that the hand she had raised at me could be broken before she blinked.
Loretta’s face twisted instantly.
heard the faint creak of bone under pressure, just enough to make her wince.
‘Who do you think you are?” Loretta hissed, her voice rising a pitch higher.
She struggled against Chris’s iron hold, her eyes flashing with a silver light.
“This is between me and her; stay out of it, you dog! Otherwise, I’ll make sure you can’t set foot in any pack again, believe it or not! I’ll have the Accord tear you apart!”
Loretta’s twisted expression, paired with the scalding coffee now dripping down her own cheek stirred a bitter laugh in my heart.
Look at that.
This was the woman whose approval I had quietly sought.
All it had taken was a single truth from my lips to earn this treatment.

Kindness?
It had been nothing but athin veneer of hypocrisy-
I reached for a white linen napkin and slowly dabbed a stray drop of coffee from the back of my hand.
My movements were calm, almost bored.
I had just been assaulted for no reason other than bruising a Matriarch’s ego, ! wasn’t about to be magnanimous.
“Loretta,” I said, my voice calm and clear.
‘Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Natalie of the Stone family. My father is Waylon Stone, the Alpha of the North; my brother is Flynn; and my mother is the renowned Scribe Ruby. You just tried to throw coffee in the face of the Stone pack’s heiress. Courageous of you.”
Loretta was visibly shaken by my words.
The fire in her eyes flickered, replaced by a sudden, sharp uncertainty. “What did you say you are?”
Chris didn’t wait for her to process it.
He flung Loretta’s wrist aside with such force that she nearly toppled over.
She stumbled back, her heels catching on the plush carpet; if her personal aide hadn’t stepped in to steady her from behind, she would have been thoroughly humiliated.
‘Are your ears failing with age, or is the Nightfang bloodline simply losing its‘ edge?” Chris’s voice rang.
‘Natalie was perfectly clear… she is Natalie Stone, the only daughter of Waylon Stone and the sole heiress of the Stone pack. You are playing with a fire that will incinerate your pack if you aren’t careful.”
Loretta stared at me in disbelief, her mind clearly racing.
She knew of the Stone pack; it was a multiterritorial powerhouse that the Nightfang Pack couldn’t challenge without risking total ‘uin.
‘Natalie,” Loretta said, her voice regaining a trace of its patronizing chill as she smoothed her stained silk.
(
She didn’t believe it.
‘For the sake of the five years you were with Jensen, I’ll give you a final word of advice. Don’t go around imagining yourself as some kind of high–society society heiress. Don’t let these Northern thugs fill your head with fantasies. Otherwise, when reality smacks you in the face and the Stones deny you, no one in the Nightfang pack will come to your rescue.”
Her tone made it clear: in her eyes, I was still the orphan.
I had no patience to argue the validity of my birthright.
If she wanted to remain blind, that was her prerogative.
“My life and my lineage are none of your concern, Loretta,” I said, leaning back and crossing my legs “I’d just like to know why you asked me here today. You didn’t invite me here just to play with coffee and insults What do you want?”

terefta frowned again, her nostris flaring
Her face darkened, the mask thing into a look of pure coldness
“Natalie, is it? Fine Since you won’t acknowledge the old ties or the kindness I’ve shown you, I see no reason to be polite,” she said, her voice dropping into a register used for dismissing servants.
“Whatever you and Jensen once had, whatever bond you thought you shared… it’s over it’s dead. He’s mated to Sharon now, she is his rightful Luna. He has a family to think of so stop contacting him. Stop demanding fees that are nothing more than a lover’s gift Walk away before you make yourself even more pathetic.”
