I dragged a hand down my face.

“Fine,” I growled. “Your tracker division’s monthly allocations go up fifty percent.”

Shauna inhaled sharply.

“Wait seriously?”

“Alpha,” she said solemnly, “it has been my greatest honor serving the Blackridge Pack.”

I ended the call before she could say anything else.

The second the line disconnected, I shoved the phone back into my coat pocket and spun on my heel.

Natalie’s knees visibly weakened beneath the pressure, her fingers tightening briefly against my shirt before her survival instincts kicked back in.

“Baron, we are literally outside!”

I ignored the warning completely.

My brain had already crossed the point of reason.

I kissed her again, slower this time but infinitely more dangerous, dragging the breath right out of her lungs until her fingers curled tightly into my coat.

A horrified child’s voice shattered the night.

Slowly, mechanically, I lifted my head from Natalie’s mouth.

Near the edge of the lawn stood Susie and Sean.

Flynn stood behind them holding both children under his arms like confiscated weapons.

Susie pointed directly at me in outrage.

Sean folded his tiny arms with disturbing judgment.
