Chapter 307 The Nomads
Jensen’s POV
My breathing still came in broken pulls.
In. Out.
In. Out.

But nothing inside me stabilised.
Nothing inside me obeyed me anymore.
Across the kitchen, Lucy stood near the threshold of the corridor.
She hadn’t moved in a while.
Her fingers were still curled lightly around the hem of her apron.
Her eyes kept flicking toward me and then away again, like looking directly at my condition might pull her into it.
I slowly lifted my head.
My gaze landed on her.
Lucy stiffened instantly.
Her instincts reacted before her mind could interpret it.
I exhaled then leaned my back against the cabinet slowly, like even standing upright required permission from something I no longer controlled.
“I said leave,” I muttered.
Lucy hesitated.
Then spoke carefully.
“Alpha Jensen… Luna Loretta instructed that I remain until your condition stabilises.”
A short, dry laugh escaped me.
f
“My condition?” I repeated.
My fingers loosened slightly.
Then tightened again without meaning to.
“I don’t have a condition.”
Lucy didn’t respond.

She took a Cautious step forward anyway.
“Sir… there is activity from the Stone Group’s northern registry branch”
The name hit the room differently.
My head tilted slightly.
Lucy continued, more careful now.
“Ms. Natalie Stone is no longer operating as an independent Scribe…”
Lucy paused slightly, as if measuring how much information I could tolerate without destabilising further.
Her voice lowered.
“The Stone Group’s maritime consortium has already begun restructuring three major international shipping corridors. The board has unanimously shifted operational authority to her registry signature.”
Another pause.
“As of the last update… her access tier has been upgraded to full sovereign heiress classification.”
Something in my chest tightened.
Lucy watched me closely now.
Then added-
“There may be a strategic opening.”
That phrase.
Strategic opening.
My fingers curled slightly.
“Explain,” I said.
Lucy exhaled quietly before continuing
{‘
“If the pack aligns with a Stone Group maritime contract, it would stabilise your southern liquidity collapse. It would also grant sanctioned access into their operational jurisdiction.”
A pause.
Then softer:
“You would be in the same formal environment as Ms. Stone.”
Silence.
My chest stopped moving for half a second

Then resumed.
Cairn stirred inside me
Not asleep anymore.
My voice came out slower this time.
“Contract.”
Lucy nodded.
I stood up so quickly, “get Hansel,” I ordered.
My tone had changed again.
Lucy moved immediately.
Within minutes, the terminal was in my hand.
The screen illuminated my face in cold, artificial light.
A face I barely recognised.
Hansel answered almost instantly.
“Alpha Jensen?”
His voice was too controlled.
Too careful.
That meant he had already seen something forming.
“Pull everything.” I said immediately. “Stone Group maritime project. Contact hierarchy. Executive access points. Now.”
A pause.
Then rapid typing.
Even through the transmission, I could hear the shift in his breathing pattern.
He was cautious.
Hansel always became cautious when i was close to crossing into irreversible decisions.
“Sir,” he began carefully, “the Stone Group does not require external partnership. Their capital structure is self–sufficient for full project execution”
My jaw tightened.
Harsel continued
“Additionally, Alpha Waylon Stone is classified as a sovereign patnarch tier asset. Given historical registry interactions involving.

Natatie Stone, probability of acceptance toward the Nightlang pack partnership is… statistically minimal.”
My grip on the phone tightened.
Hansel’s voice lowered further.

“And… Sir… the historical records regarding Ms. Stone’s five–year alignment under the Nightfang pack remain publicly accessible within upper registry audit logs.”
My breathing slowed.
“I don’t care.” I said immediately.
“I don’t care about probability. I need proximity.”
Silence.
Then Hansel responded more quietly.
“Understood. Initiating contact protocol drafting.”
The line disconnected.
Lucy remained still behind me.
Waiting for collapse or command.
I didn’t give her either.
Instead, I turned toward the corridor.
My terminal vibrated again.
A direct intercept alert.
High–priority.
Border clearance.
My steps stopped before I fully understood why.
My eyes dropped to the screen.
The data unfolded itself like a sealed document breaking open under pressure.
Waylon Stone.
Ruby Stone.
Northern convoy authorization confirmed.
Nightfang Pack entry completed.
Final destination.
