Chapter 321 The Beast Unleashed
Natalie’s POV
“Baron,” I breathed, but my voice silent.
My knees almost betrayed me as his aura pressed harder.
He didn’t look at me.
His eyes were locked onto his wrist console, and what I saw there erased every trace of warmth left in him.
My mate was gone.
What remained was something older.
Across the room, everything fractured into motion.
My dad rose so fast his bench scraped violently across the floor before tipping backward with a heavy crack.
The sound was swallowed almost immediately by the pressure still radiating from Baron.
Ruby didn’t hesitate.
One motion and Susie was already in her arms, pulled tight against her chest.
Sean followed instinctively, pressing in close without needing instruction, his small face tight with sudden understanding.
Flynn’s fork hit the plate with a metallic snap.
“Seal the perimeter!” Waylon barked, voice shaking the rafters. “Now!”
Flynn was already moving,

“No signal bleed on outer ridge grids,” he snapped, vaulting from his seat. “Someone’s suppressed our eyes – digital and thermal. that’s not local interference, Alpha.”
His hand went to his belt.
Steel slid free in a clean, practiced motion.
The room shifted fully into war.
And Baron still hadn’t spoken.
I moved before thought could catch me.
Stepping into his shadow, I gripped his chest plates, forcing myself through the pressure radiating off him until my face was enough to feel the heat of his skin.
Nyx surged again, not retreating this time, but standing her ground, matching his presence in dekance
“Tell me what happened,” I demanded, my voice tightening “is it Jensen?

A low sound left Baron’s throat.
“No…,” he said, his hand came up fast, gripping the back of my neck and pulling me into him. “This isn’t him.”
My breath hitched.
“Then what is it?”
His gaze flicked back to the console.
And something in his expression went dangerously still.
“The North,” he said.
That single word changed the temperature of the room.
Ruby’s aura tightened instantly.
Waylon’s expression hardened into something carved from old war memory.
Even Flynn stopped breathing for half a second.
Baron’s grip on me didn’t loosen. If anything, it deepened, like he was grounding himself through contact alone.
“She found me,” he continued, voice dropping into something darker. “The one I buried five winters ago.”
Understanding hit me too fast.
His family.
My throat tightened. “Your stepmother…”
Baron’s mouth curved slightly, but there was nothing human in it.
“Blackridge’s pressure just cracked her pack spine,” he said. “She realized the mistake too late.”
His eyes lifted to mine.
And for the first time that night, I saw it clearly.
Anticipation.
“She didn’t send lawyers,” he said quietly. “She sent hunters.”
Ruby’s voice cut in, calm but absolute.
“Then we move the children.”
No argument.
No discussion.
I turned immediately, breaking away from Baron only because the situation demanded it

My arms were already moving before I fully registered it, gathering Susie’s small sleeping form against my chest as Ruby adj
Waylon guided them without a word toward the reinforced corridor.
Steel doors waited like a sealed promise.
One by one, they closed behind us.
Inside the vault corridor, I lowered Susie onto the thick bedding without waking her. Her fingers curled instinctively into my ste even in sleep, refusing to let go until I gently loosened her grip.
Something inside me tightened painfully at the sight.
Mine.
“Stay with your brother,” I whispered to Sean, brushing his hair back once. “Don’t open anything unless I return.”
He nodded once.
“I will, Mommy.”
That word hit harder than it should have.
I didn’t linger.
I left.
When I returned to the sitting room, the atmosphere had fully shifted.
Baron stood at the head of the holographic table, blue light cutting sharp angles across his face.
Waylon stood opposite him like a mountain given human form. Flynn hovered near the side, already armed and listening
