Runemaster in the Last Days novel Chapter 1059

Navi roared in anger and despair.

Bmp! Bmp! Bmp!

No matter where she moved, there would be a circular wall that blocked her from going further away from their current location.

At this distance, the nuclear bombs wouldn't affect them that much but it was not completely save.

Because there were still many magic beasts around.

Moreover, the soldiers on the wall were busy killing the magic beasts that managed to reach this area. They were shooting relentlessly and ignored the presence of Nalan and Navi who appeared suddenly.

Ever since they saw that the three returnees were somehow staying around the passage, they chose to ignore them.

Because these returnees were fighting on their own.

And they were also fighting against the magic beasts without bothering these returnees.

Perhaps cooperation would yield better result, but the two sides have long been at odds with each other.

Cooperation is impossible.

At least, in this life it's impossible.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bullets passed by their place and from this distance, it was obviously the specifically trained soldiers who were sniping the magic beasts.

The bullet was at least a few meters away from them.

It was targeting the magic beasts.

But for some reason, Navi felt as if these soldiers were mocking them because they couldn't get away from here.

"Why? Damn it! Just why?" Navi pounded on the invisible wall in front of her. The frustration of being forced to fight in the past few days were coming to her all over, making her want to destroy everything that stood in front of her.

Just why?

They had fought a lot of magic beasts in the past two months to the point of almost dying several times.

Is it not enough?

"Just what the hell do you want from us damn it? Forcefully transferring us into a completely strange world without any instruction whatsoever and when we come back, we're subjected to a different treatment…. Just because of our knowledge!"

Navi screamed in annoyance, her hand pounding on the invisible wall.

Nalan stood behind Navi, watching her emotional breakdown and his raised hand was slowly put down.

He knew very well that Navi is not that strong.

They were all indeed returnees who have experienced living in a completely different world and all.

But first and foremost…

They were all ordinary human being.

On the Green Planet, Navi came from a prominent rich family and lived a pampered life of a young miss from an influential family. She didn't have to do anything and there would be many people who came to flatter her simply because of her family background.

But Navi still worked hard.

At least, to make sure that she would not be used by other people and could stand by herself.

Nalan, who came from the branch family, naturally saw what his cousin had to go through when they were on the Green Planet. But even in such a situation, Nalan saw that Navi was still doing well and could handle things with ease.

Bang!

"Damn it! What do you actually want from us?" Navi screamed, repeating her question and she slumped on the ground. "I have grown stronger, I have already learned a lot of knowledge… but it's still far from enough, isn't it? Now, I have to fight for my life all the time just for the damned continent behind me…"

Just why…

Why her?

Navi cried and slumped on the ground, not wanting to take a look at her surroundings anymore.

She was tired.

Having to fight for such a long time and then forced to fight against these magic beasts repeatedly only to have her stranded in this place like this…

Just why?

What did she do wrong to make her have to suffer so much like this?

Swish!

Nalan silently erected a barrier to protect the two of them while leaning against the invisible barrier behind him. He looked at the dying magic beasts that were bombarded by the nuclear bomb in the distance and sighed.

Navi's question might be the question that all of them wanted to ask.

Thrown into a completely different world, not even given the slightest hint of how they should survive, and then they were sent back to their own planet. Before they could enjoy their lives, what awaited them was nothing more than a cruel fact that the entire world had changed once more.

Forced to rebuild their lives over and over…

And now, they were forced to fight for the sake of their survival repeatedly.

Even the strongest person's will would be broken apart eventually.
