Bang!
The earth shook badly, but the building thankfully still stood tall.
However, Riya could clearly see that there were a lot of cracks on the wall around her. It was estimated that the situation below was even worse.
After around half a minute, the tremor stopped.
But the two of them still didn’t move.
Who knew if the earthquake would produce the second tremor? They didn’t want to bet on their lives.
"How high is this earthquake magnitude?" Amelia suddenly asked.
"I don’t know." Riya shook her head.
She looked outside with worry because she had the feeling that this earthquake was by no means an ordinary one. But at the same time, it was good that this building held up because if not, they might end up being buried here.
The formation would protect this room, but not Ruby outside.
If the building was truly broken, Riya would feel immense regret for not sparing more time and effort to make additional protection formation.
"I’ll take a look." Riya crawled out and walked towards the window.
"Wait…." Amelia thought that Riya wanted to get out of the door, but seeing that she only went to the window, Amelia didn’t stop her.
She looked around her and after a moment, she gritted her teeth and followed Riya’s lead.
Riya looked out of the window.
The scene in front of her was like apocalypse. There were many buildings collapsed and countless ruins presented in front of her eyes. Many tress fell down and cars overturned. All over the places, it seemed that only some buildings were still barely standing and intact or some parts collapsed but most of it still stood.
This view made Riya’s blood felt cold. freēwēbnovel.com
It made her remember the days when she was in that broken world once again where magic could easily cause destruction like this. There were times when she had to face those crazy magicians and warriors.
Battles and deaths were common.
Riya felt she was really small.
Back in that world, she often felt that way because there were many people who were more powerful than her. And the power they wield could easily cause others to scurry away in fear.
Now in this world, Riya was once again reminded of the power of nature.
It was terrifying.
"Ruby," Riya called out. "Ruby, can you hear me?"
After that Riya raised her hand and mana gathered on her palm as she pressed the door in from to her open. The room was full of dust and it seemed that something was broken considering the tables and chairs were overturned.
Riya frowned and after sweeping her gaze, she found the bedroom door was open and Riya didn’t hesitate and entered it.
"Ruby?"
"Huh? Riya?" Ruby’s voice could be heard from the distance. She was hiding under her blanket on her bed and her face stuck out.
From the way it looked like, she was perfectly fine.
Seeing Ruby, Riya was relieved.
It seemed that Ruby was smart enough to dash to her bedroom and hide there.
She was not entirely sure where Ruby came from, though.
"Why did you come here…?" Ruby paused and then frowned. "Are you worried about me? Don’t worry, I’m perfectly fine."
"I can see that now. Come out and let’s stay in my and Amelia’s room."
