Chapter 111 Margaret’s Skill Is Truly Unmatched

Stella dried her remaining tears with a guilty look. “Crown Prince Christopher, all this pain is my fault. I will tend to your needs every day from now on. Please do not turn me away.”
Christopher replied in a soft, gentle tone, “Silly girl. You are the one I love most, This was only an honest mistake, and I could never hold it against you.”
A faint, uneasy feeling lingered in his heart, despite his kind words.
Stella tucked her tears away once she heard his reply.
They mutter apologies for Margaret in their hearts, even if they speak kindly to me.
What makes Margaret so special?
She is nothing but a plain, fat girl.
Even if she truly mastered acupuncture, I will never let her steal everyone’s favor like she did when we were children.
I am the one who deserves all their care and admiration.
She shifted the topic on purpose. “Jasper, you mentioned Mr. Kingston wanted me to join Life Preserve Pavilion, right?”
Jasper blinked in surprise. “I did, but the emergency with Crown Prince Christopher drove it from my mind. I’m sure he forgot as well. We can ask him once he returns. He brought the offer up on his own, so he will likely mention it again soon.”
He added, “He seems cold and stern while treating patients, but he is warm and easy to talk to in daily life. His invitation to you was sincere and kind, nothing like his sharp attitude today.”
A quick knock sounded at the chamber door mid–conversation.
Darren stepped inside moments later, carrying a bundle of prepared medicines.
“Crown Prince Christopher,” Darren said formally, “these remedies are for your injured arm. Some are for external use, and others are to be taken orally. Clear instructions are marked on each container. I have contained the worst of your poison for now. Focus on cleaning and healing your wounds over the next few days. Once the bleeding stops entirely, you may come to me for regular acupuncture to purge the remaining toxin,”
He handed the medicines over to Christopher’s attendants after finishing his instructions.
Then he turned toward Jasper, his expression softening into a warm, friendly smile–far different from his harsh demeanor earlier.

Stella stood straight, filled with quiet anticipation.
He will invite me to join them any moment now. I lost so much face today, and I need this chance to take back my pride.
Darren spoke before she could settle her thoughts. “Mr. Jasper Campbell, has your other sister come with

Jasper froze for a second, glanced awkwardly at Stella, and answered carefully, “You must be joking, Mr. Kingston. My sister has been here with us the whole time. I never forgot your earlier request. I brought her along when we came with Crown Prince Christopher today.”
Darren followed his gaze to Stella, then looked away without a second glance. “I do not mean this young lady. I speak of your other sister–the one with a fuller figure.”
He paused, then added pointedly, “Her name is Margaret. She is the one who saved Crown Prince Christopher from this deadly poison. You all know how powerful this toxin is. Even I need months of steady treatment to break its hold. Yet she sealed away most of the poison with just one round of acupuncture, leaving only a small trace behind. You understand exactly what that means, right?”
Jasper’s heart skipped a beat. Darren’s meaning was impossible to miss.
Margaret only needs two short therapy sessions to fully cure this poison, while he requires months of work.
The unspoken praise was clear–Darren openly regarded Margaret’s healing skill as superior to his own.
Jasper stood frozen, too shocked to speak a single word.
Darren continued firmly, “You are a poor elder brother to overlook her gifts. Not long ago, Margaret saved a dying man in the town square with flawless, masterful acupuncture technique. The whole street
