Chapter 31 A Really Handsome Guy

As piece after piece of his outer clothing came off, Theodore didn’t feel the cold at all. With his brows furrowed, he squeezed his eyes shut and gritted his teeth without a word.

Margaret’s cheeks had turned a little red, 100.

It wasn’t that she had never done acupuncture on a man before, but she had never seen a man with such a perfect body.

That healthy skin tone, those flawless lines… Now I finally get why some women’s noses bleed when they see a really handsome guy.

It had to be the tense atmosphere inside the carriage.

It had to be how narrow the carriage was.

Otherwise, why would it be so hot in here on such a cold day?

“You carry silver needles with you,” Theodore said, probably trying to break the awkward silence. “You must have studied medicine for years, right?”

Margaret was stunned. Of course, she couldn’t tell him about the storage space. But if she said she never studied medicine, that didn’t really add up either.

But what if I say I did, and he goes and checks?

If he actually looks into it and finds out the original girl never studied medicine, won’t I be exposed?

Theodore continued, “I heard that to help Crown Prince Christopher walk again, you searched far and wide for miracle doctors and magical cures…”

Her heart was pounding a little. Her hand came down harder with the next needle.

Theodore winced. “Be gentler.”

“Oh–right. Sorry.” Margaret softened her touch immediately.

“We probably shouldn’t talk during acupuncture,” she added. “It can make you feel uncomfortable…”

“I’m fine,” Theodore said, “Tve already recovered.”

In just a few short moments, she has suppressed the poison in my body. This woman is anything but ordinary.

Theodore couldn’t help it–he opened his eyes and stared straight at Margaret. “Did you learn acupuncture for Crown Prince Christopher, too?”

But at this point, she couldn’t think of another excuse. She could only force an awkward smile. “Since you’ve recovered, Prince Theodore, maybe you should put your clothes back on first.”

With that, she put the silver needles back into her storage space–or at least, that was what it looked like. She slipped her hand inside her chest as if tucking the needles into her clothes.

Her winter robes were thick. Theodore didn’t notice a thing. He just quietly started dressing again.

Suddenly, the carriage jolted. Margaret lost her balance and stumbled straight into Theodore’s chest.

He hadn’t finished putting on his shirt. Her face landed right against his bare chest. Her nose throbbed- and two warm streams of blood trickled down.

She scrambled back to her seat, “Oww–that hurts…”

My nose really hurts.

Margaret touched it with her fingers. Sure enough, there was blood.

She tilted her head back quickly. “Your Highness, Your chest muscles are really… firm.”

Theodore hurriedly pulled his clothes on, his face dark. “Zeke. Turn around. Go to the estate. Summon a royal doctor.”

Margaret waved her hands. “No, no–it’ll stop in a second…”

She was a healer herself. Why would she need a doctor?

Margaret gave herself a quick, quiet needle, and the nosebleed stopped.

She finally dared to lower her head.

Then their eyes mei–and another drop of blood fell.

This body.

Seriously? So embarrassing.

Theodore stared at her blood–streaked face, his expression grim. “You’re badly hurt. I’m calling a roval doctor.”

“No need. Looks like we’ve arrived at the Prime Minister’s Estate. Since you’re fine now. I’ll head inside.”

With that, Margaret fled the carriage,

No way. That body. That face. That close

If I keep looking, how am I supposed to stop the nosebleed?

Besides, that little prince is kind of gentle.

Not like the rumors at all.

“Zeke, walk her back.” Theodore’s voice drifted from inside the carriage.

Margaret quickly said. “Really, no need–I’m fine.”

“You have something of mine, Theodore said lightly.

It sounded like. “I’m not trying to escort you. I just need to pick up my thing”

Margaret couldn’t tell if he was serious or not, so she let it happen.

She thought Theodore had just made up an excuse to send someone with her. But when Zeke Knox walked her back to the estate, he actually followed her all the way to her little courtyard and took a piece of clothing–the very one Margaret had borrowed on the snowy mountain.

“You must be kidding,” she said after handing it over. “He wants back an old cloth? Does Prince Theodore not have enough clothes?”

Zeke smiled, “You don’t understand. Prince Theodore wasn’t after the cloth. He was after what was inside it.”

He reached into the pocket of the garment and pulled out a pearl bracelet.

Zeke continued, “Good—it’s still here. You have no idea. Everyone in the estate has been punished over this thing for the past two days. Luckily, Prince Theodore finally remembered the bracelet was in this cloth. And luckily, you kept it safe. I won’t bother you any longer today. One of these days, Prince Theodore will come back in person to thank you.”
