Second Chance for the Barren Luna (Talia and Jason) novel Chapter 467

Talia’s POV

After breakfast, we walked to the border to say goodbye to everyone.

The cars were packed and most of the Alphas had already said goodbye. I waited until Solon came over before I spoke.

“I want to come with you.”

Everything stopped.

"To Silverfang," I said, since nobody else spoke. "I missed his funeral. I think going to his grave might help me remember. Silverfang is the only place I can recall. All my other memories are blurred or gone. If my memories come back, it’ll be there."

Solon looked at Leslie. “It wasn’t…it wasn’t like that, Talia. I don’t think…”

“Then what happened to him? How did he die? Why does no one want to tell me?” I asked.

“Not yet,” Solon said, then sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “You need to stay here in Bloodmoon.”

“Why?”

"Because you’re taking things too fast,” Solon replied. “I know you want to get your life back on track, but I’m worried about what will happen if you rush things. You need to take it slow and not overexert yourself.”

“I’m not asking your permission,” I said firmly.

Solon chuckled. “I missed your stubbornness.”

“I’m serious, Solon.”

“I’m not ordering you, Talia. I’m asking you to wait. When you’re well enough to travel, I will come and collect you myself,” Solon said.

“No, I really feel like I need to go now,” I said.

“Talia, think about what that would look like,” Della added. “I know you want your memories back, but you’re going about this all wrong.”

Della’s serious tone surprised me. She didn’t often get serious with me and made me doubt my decision. I was still trying to think of what to say when something bumped into my legs.

The twins had come in under my arms and latched on, one on each side.

“Don’t go,” Nyla said into my hip. “Please don’t go.”

“It would only be for a few days,” I said.

“You just woke up.” Elian had his whole face pressed into my leg. “You just woke up, and now you’re leaving again!”

Both of them were crying, not making a scene, just hugging me with tears streaming down their faces. I looked at their dark heads and realized how selfish I'd been. I couldn’t leave them.

I knelt and hugged them. “All right. All right. I’ll stay.”

Elian nodded, wiping the tears from his face before wrapping his arm around Nyla, who was still crying. The way he comforted her reminded me so much of Solon and me when we were younger. ‘Our son kind of acts like Solon too,’ my wolf commented, and I agreed.

I looked up and saw Nolan’s face before he could hide it. He’d let me argue the whole time without saying a word to Solon, and I finally understood he meant it when he said he wouldn’t stop me. Still, he looked relieved, and I almost felt guilty for wanting to leave.

Leslie walked over and said, “I can’t wait to get to know you all over again.” She hugged me and whispered in my ear, “Give Nolan a chance. He’s a good man.”
