Chapter 163 Why So Scared
Why is she this nervous around me?

She had already promised she wouldn’t keep avoiding him, yet not even a few days later, she was slipping right back into old habits.
And the most frustrating part was, he couldn’t do anything about it.
Lucy being a little intimidated by him made sense. He was stricter with her, and if she messed something up. Julian wouldn’t hesitate to call her out.
But with Quinn, he knew he had always been patient, measured, even gentle.
So what exactly was she afraid of?
And how was he supposed to make that go away?
They had just finished dinner, and right when he was about to bring up something important, Quinn’s phone rang.
She stood up quickly. “Adele, I’m gonna take this.”
The way she walked off felt less like answering a call and more like making a clean getaway.
Adele caught it right away. “Is Quinn a little scared of you?”
Julian pulled his gaze back and gave a quiet nod.
“You really are great in every way,” Adele said, “but you don’t talk much, and you always look so serious. Girls usually like someone a little warmer. She’s not one of your employees, you don’t have to keep that face on all the time.”
Julian frowned slightly. “I’m not like that…”
He genuinely felt like he had already been as gentle as he could with Quinn.
If anything, he was holding himself back, worried that if he showed too much too fast, he might scare her off.
After all, this was the first time he had ever liked someone like this. If he let everything spill out at once, he wasn’t sure he could keep it under control.
“Quinn’s a good girl,” Adele continued. “She’s kind, soft–hearted, but she takes time to open up. Don’t rush it. Just go slow, alright?”
Adele had seen enough in life to read people clearly.
Julian nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
Quinn had stepped away to answer Lucy’s call.

Chapter 163 Why So Scared
Lucy couldn’t find a bracelet and was freaking out, asking if Quinn had seen it anywhere.
Quinn suggested a few places, and after some searching, Lucy finally found it.

When Quinn came back, Adele was already standing by the worktable with Julian, showing him a new fabric.
“Quinn, come here,” Adele called. “You’re making something for Julian, right? What do you think about this color?”
Most of Julian’s wardrobe leaned heavily toward darker tones.
Black, charcoal, navy, he rarely wore anything outside that range.
The fabric Adele held up was a deep blue.
That shade instantly reminded Quinn of that day on the yacht, when his outfit and her dress had ended up matching.
Heap crept up her cheeks before she could stop it. She nodded quickly. “Yeah, it looks really good.”
Adele laughed. “Well look at you, being cooperative for once. You weren’t this easy when I used to make clothes for you.”

Quinn avoided his eyes and stepped behind him instead.
Out of his line of sight, she finally let out a small breath.
“I’ll start with your shoulders,” she said softly.
Adele stood nearby, ready to take notes. Quinn raised her hands, gently placing the tape across his shoulders.
He was wearing a crisp white button–down tucked into tailored slacks.
Broad shoulders, narrow waist, a clean V–shaped build..
She had always known he was tall, but only up close did she realize she had to stretch just to measure his shoulders properly.
Shoulders and arm length were straightforward.
But then came chest, waist, hips, thighs, neck…
And chest measurements alone meant upper chest, lower chest, inhale, exhale…
Quinn took a steady breath and stepped in front of him. Since Adele was shorter, there was a small fitting platform in the studio.
Quinn stepped onto it so she could meet Julian at eye level.
She forced herself to stay focused, carefully controlling her movements so her fingers wouldn’t brush his skin.
Slowly, she looped the tape around his neck.
Just then, a voice called out from the back room.
