Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by My Mr. Right
Chapter 203 Something Shifts

When Lucy walked into the room and finally saw Quinn in person, she still couldn’t stop herself from asking, “Hey, you doing better now? Julian didn’t give you a hard time or anything, right?”
Quinn smiled, her expression calm and soft. “I’m a lot better. He’s been taking care of me the whole time, why would he?”
Hearing that, Lucy visibly relaxed. “Okay, good, that’s what I wanted to hear. Does it still hurt though, and what did the doctor say about when you can go home?”
The caregiver, who had been standing nearby organizing things, turned and answered with a friendly tone. “It was a pretty routine procedure, so usually patients are discharged within three to five days. It really just depends on how well she heals over the next couple of days.”
Lucy nodded, then looked back at her with curiosity. “Were you the one here with her last night?”
The caregiver smiled and shook her head. “Oh no, that wasn’t me. Her boyfriend stayed the whole night, I’m guessing that’s your… cousin? He didn’t leave her side once. Honestly, you don’t see that kind of attentiveness very often, and on top of that, he’s incredibly good–looking.”
She kept going, clearly impressed, praising Julian without holding back.
Lucy let out a small laugh, but her eyes flicked toward Quinn, and it was obvious she wanted to say something privately. She quickly came up with an excuse, asked the caregiver to help grab something from outside, and waited until the door closed behind her.
The second they were alone, Lucy leaned in closer. “Wait, seriously, he stayed with you all night?”
Quinn nodded, her voice quiet but steady. “Yeah. I told him to get some rest on the couch, but he wouldn’t.”
Lucy’s eyes widened immediately. “No way… okay, I did not expect that from him, not even a little. Quinn, be honest with me, did that get to you at all?”
Quinn didn’t answer right away, she just gave a faint smile, the kind that didn’t fully reveal what she was thinking.
Lucy caught that, but she didn’t push too hard. “Hey, I’m just saying, this is completely your call. I’m not trying to set you up or anything, and I would never pressure you into being with him. But objectively speaking, Julian is a really good option. If you ever did date him, it wouldn’t exactly be a loss.”
Quinn hesitated for a moment before saying, “Maybe… after my divorce.”
Lucy blinked, then suddenly laughed as the realization hit her. “Oh my god, that’s right, you’re still married. Wait, if something actually happened between you two right now, that would technically make him the other guy. That’s wild.”
The phrase sounded so out of place that even Quinn couldn’t help reacting.
She shook her head, a little helpless. “Lucy, don’t say it like that.”

“Okay, okay, I’m done,” Lucy said quickly, raising her hands in surrender. “If Julian hears me talking like
that, I’m dead.”
She moved closer and sat by the bed, her tone softening. “But seriously, this one’s on me. When you’re out of here, I’m taking proper care of you, no excuses.”
Quinn looked at her, amused. “Why do you keep saying that? Should I thank you for calling 911, or I might’ve just passed out at home from the pain?”
Lucy paused, then laughed it off. “Alright, fair enough, we’ll call it even.”
She studied Quinn for a second, her expression turning gentle again. “Just focus on getting better. Oh, and there’s this charity gala coming up in a few days, and my favorite actor is going to be there. Come with me?”
Lucy had easy access to that world, the celebrity she followed was even signed under her family’s company, but she never crossed that line and always kept her distance like a normal fan.
For Quinn, something like a charity gala felt distant, almost unreal, like something that only existed on screens.
Is he serious right now? Why does he look like he’s trying this hard? Does he even realize how obvious it is?
Wow, okay, so I’m basically invisible now?

It’s fine, it’s Quinn, I’m not jealous, absolutely not.
But the difference in how he treated them was almost ridiculous.
Then again, remembering what the caregiver said earlier, Lucy couldn’t help thinking about it.
People were always more vulnerable when they were sick.
And Julian, apparently, could be incredibly attentive.
If that were me, I wouldn’t stand a chance. I’d fall for him instantly.
Which made Quinn seem even more impressive.
What Lucy didn’t realize was that Quinn wasn’t nearly as composed as she looked.
On the surface, she seemed calm.
But inside, she was completely thrown off.

How is anyone supposed to stay unaffected around someone like him?
Julian asked a few more questions about how she felt, then finally turned his attention back to Lucy. “You’re still here?”
