Chapter 237 Unexpected Call
When Cecilia Dixon saw Julian, the surprise hit her immediately.

She was part of the Dixon family and had ties to Maddox, and while her family was indeed well–off, it was nowhere near as extravagant as her fans liked to imagine, but since her public image had already been shaped into that polished, wealthy socialite persona, there was no reason for her to correct it.
She had seen Julian before, not up close, but often enough in conversations, because in Lakeshore City, his name came up constantly among people in their circle, usually accompanied by admiration and a kind of distance that made it clear he stood above the rest.
People talked about his looks, his ability, his decisiveness, and his instinct for business, and over time, those stories had turned him into someone almost untouchable.
The Sterling businesses had already expanded far beyond the city, and Julian, as the one in charge, had naturally become someone many admired and just as many envied.
He had always been that way, the kind of person others were compared to growing up, top of his class, sharp–minded, capable, and now, as the head of the family, someone most people couldn’t even hope to catch up to.
Even those who had taken over their own family businesses and done reasonably well still fell short when placed next to him.
Cecilia had also heard bits and pieces about Maddox, rumors that he had left the country after crossing Julian, though no one seemed to know the full story.
So when her manager came over right after she stepped off stage and told her that Julian wanted to see her, her first reaction wasn’t confusion, but excitement.
In a setting like this, when someone like him called you over, it usually meant one thing.
If things went well, whether it turned into something casual or something more, it would only work in her favor.
No one in the industry dared to openly mess with her because of her background, but compared to Julian, that background didn’t carry the same weight.
If she could get close to him, even a little, it would change her position entirely.
And truthfully, she had admired him for a long time, just never had the chance to get close.
Now that chance was right in front of her.
She walked over slowly, her steps measured, her posture deliberate, and when she reached his side, she leaned slightly as she greeted him, her movement natural but calculated.
“Seven,” Cecilia said, her voice soft and smooth.
Before he even looked up, Julian caught the scent of her perfume, not unpleasant by any standard, but strong enough that it didn’t sit well with him.

He didn’t look at her, and instead turned to Lucy as if Cecilia weren’t even there.
Julian said, “Switch with me.”
Without waiting for a response, he stood and changed seats, moving to sit on Quinn’s left, leaving Lucy to take the seat on Quinn’s right, which subtly but clearly shifted the dynamic at the table.
She didn’t recognize her.
And more importantly, she couldn’t ignore how striking she looked.
There was supposed to be a clear gap between celebrities and regular people, but the woman in front of her didn’t fit that expectation at all, her features naturally refined, her presence quiet but noticeable, especially her eyes, which were bright and expressive in a way that drew attention without trying.
Cecilia recovered quickly, though the smile didn’t feel quite as natural anymore.
Cecilia said, “And you are…?”
