“Didn’t you hear him?” Chase said coldly. “Julian just said he has no fiancée. That means his relationship with Quinn is completely normal. There’s no other woman here.”

“You… you don’t believe me either?” Rosalie stared at him in shock.

Julian not believing her was one thing, but Chase?

Chase said, “I should have stopped believing you a long time ago. If it weren’t for you… Quinn and I might never have split up.”

Rosalie was fuming. “What are you talking about?!”

Chase frowned. “I remember now. You used to talk about her exactly like this. Tell me the truth–was any of it real?”

Caught red–handed, Rosalie snapped, “I would never lie to you! How could you think that of me?”

Tears sprung to her eyes, which she quickly wiped away. “If that’s how you feel, I don’t have anything left to say.”

She turned and walked away, fully expecting Chase to run after her, stop her, and apologize.

But she kept going, and not a sound came from behind.

She finally glanced back–and nearly exploded.

Chase was walking the opposite way. He wasn’t coming after her at all.

Rosalie stamped her foot in rage, and this time the tears were real.

She knew if she couldn’t win Chase back now, she might never get another chance.

Chase sighed. “I don’t want to, but the truth is clear. We shouldn’t contact each other anymore.”

He hung up.

Rosalie stared at her phone in disbelief.

He… he actually just hung up on me.

She was furious.

Years of being spoiled had left her with a sharp temper. She stormed home in a huff.

But once she was inside and calmed down, regret sank in.

She’d gotten absolutely nothing out of Julian.

He was far too sharp and powerful for her to control.
