Chapter 338 Guilt and Doubt
This was exactly what Rosalie had been waiting to hear.
She’d planned every step carefully, all to make Chase feel guilty.
And she was convinced that a man would never forget the person he took their first time with.
From now on, she would hold a special place in his heart.
“Chase, I hate you!” Rosalie sobbed. “How could you do this to me?”

“Stop crying. We need to figure out how to fix this,” Chase said, looking utterly helpless. “Tell me what to do. I’ll do anything you say.”
Rosalie said, “I won’t force you to marry me if you don’t love me. But you can’t just cut me off. We’ve known each other for years. How could you just abandon me like that?”
Chase said, “You were the one who wanted to end things first.”

“I had no choice! I was seeing someone new, and you wouldn’t leave me alone…”
“So I backed off, and now this happens.”
-just friends.”
“It’s different.” Rosalie said. “I want us to go back to how we were-
Chase asked, “You really don’t want me to take responsibility?”
“I know you were drunk. I don’t blame you.”
Chase actually felt a flicker of gratitude. “Rosalie, you’re too good to me.”
“Now you think so? You wouldn’t even give me a proper Christmas gift earlier.”
Chase hurried to say, “I’ll make it up to you. I promise. Can… can you please put some clothes on first?”
Honestly, Chase felt nothing about what had happened.
But when he saw the marks on Rosalie’s body, he couldn’t bring himself to deny anything.
He wasn’t stupid. Once his initial panic faded, he started to doubt her story.
For one thing, his drinks hadn’t seemed spiked. Why would he suddenly lose control like that?
And besides, when a man was that drunk, he could barely function at all.
“That’s not what I meant,” Chase quickly explained. “What I did hurt you, and it can’t be undone. I’m sorry. Just tell me how to make it right.”
“I already told you… I don’t want to lose you as a friend. Just treat me like you used to.”
Chase hesitated. “Rosalie, I used to be in love with you…”
“Do you hate me now?” Rosalie asked. “But when we were in bed… you kept saying my name.”
Chase felt disgusted with himself.
Once, he’d thought he loved her and had imagined being intimate with her.
But she’d been his ideal, someone he’d never dared to treat lightly.
How was it that now, when he loved Quinn, he’d called out Rosalie’s name during that moment?
