“I’ll come with you from now on.”

Quinn did not refuse. “Okay.”

Julian added, “If you don’t want to come, you don’t have to. Don’t wrong yourself.”

“It’s not that wrong.” Quinn said. “They raised me after all. I’m still grateful.”

“You…” Julian pinched her cheek gently. “I’ll go along with whatever you want.”

Quinn glanced at him, smiled, and said nothing more.

She knew exactly what Chase had meant by his words.

But she trusted that Julian would never let her suffer.

If they really did get married someday, Julian would surely handle all the problems properly.

He would never let her worry.

That trust had appeared almost out of nowhere.

In truth, she had always trusted him deeply.

Quinn knew that what she lacked was trust in herself.

She should not feel inferior, nor overthink, nor doubt his feelings.

If she never tried anything, if she shut herself away from love just because of a divorce, what meaning would her life have?

After sending Quinn home, Julian naturally stayed.

They went upstairs, and as soon as the door closed, he kissed her.

Quinn’s body softened at once. Julian held her by the waist, lifted her, and sat her on the cabinet.

With her body supported, it was easier for him to kiss her deeply.

He started gently, soft and lingering.

But soon, a tender kiss was no longer enough for Julian.

Lucy smiled and waved. “Okay, okay, I’ll go in now.”
