“You listened when I said I wanted you. Why won’t you listen when I say stop?”

“I… I couldn’t control myself by then.” Julian took her hand. “I promise I’ll behave from now on. We have to sleep in the same bed, okay?”

“Really?” Quinn asked. “Will you respect what I say? If I say no, I mean no.”

Julian nodded. “Alright.”

Quinn would later learn that men were all the same-their promises couldn’t be trusted.

They agreed to go pack her things after dinner.

Lucy giggled as soon as she picked up. “Quinn, you didn’t come home last night. You stayed with Julian, didn’t you?”

Lucy had texted her the night before, but Quinn had been too busy with Julian to reply.

When Lucy called later, Julian had answered and simply said she wasn’t coming back.

Lucy had been thoughtful enough not to disturb them after that.

Quinn knew she couldn’t hide it.

Still shy, she only hummed in response.

Lucy was even more excited. “Did you two sleep together? Did you? Did you? Did you?“

Quinn’s face burned. “Lucy, stop asking.”

“So you did!” Lucy laughed out loud. “How is he? Is Julian… good?”

Quinn wanted to crawl into a hole. “Lucy!”

“Okay, okay, I know you’re shy. I’ll stop.” Lucy backed off quickly. “When are you coming back?”

“I…” Quinn hesitated, not sure how to say it. “Lucy… I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can live with you anymore.”

“What…” Lucy caught on at once. “You’re moving in with Julian?”

Quinn said, “He wants me to, and I… I want to too.”

“Haha!” Lucy laughed again. “That’s great! Why are you apologizing? I totally support this!”

Wearing Julian’s things was far too dangerous.

It easily turned him into a wolf-rough and relentless, nothing like his usual self.

That was why she’d suggested separate rooms.

Julian’s appetite was simply too much for her to keep up with.

Still, Quinn understood what he’d said. It was their first time for everything, and he’d never experienced this before. She could forgive him for getting a little carried away.
