Chapter 401 We’ll Be Together Forever

She ran over to him at once, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs tight around his waist. Julian lifted her easily and leaned down to kiss the corner of her lips. “When did you get back?”

“About an hour ago,” Quinn replied. “Are you finished with work?”

“All done,” he said. “Want to go look around?”

“Yes.”

She’d come along to pick out gifts for Julian’s parents.

They changed into casual clothes, and Julian drove her to the luxury exhibition himself.

Quinn stared at his dashboard in surprise. “Wait-you have that little charm here too? In Voss City?”

It was a small woven trinket she’d made with her own hands.

“I brought it with me on my last business trip,” Julian explained. “I drive this car myself every day, so I kept it here. It feels like you’re with me.”

Quinn smiled up at him. “You really like it that much?”

“I do,” he said softly. “More than you know.”

“I’ll weave you a few more then.”

“No,” Julian refused gently. “I don’t want you to tire yourself out. And don’t make any for now on, okay?”

Quinn couldn’t help laughing. “That’s my job, baby.”

“Then I’ll buy out all your work.”

“You…” Quinn rolled her eyes playfully. “Does that mean I get to demand you never talk to any other girls again-even for work?”

She’d only said it as a joke. It sounded totally impossible.

But Julian looked straight at her and nodded seriously. “Okay.”

“You…” Quinn was both amused and helpless. “I was only kidding!”

“I wasn’t.”

Quinn held up her hands in surrender. “Alright, alright, forget I said anything.”

“That’s exactly how an irresponsible player talks,” he teased.

Quinn giggled. “I really was joking! Can’t you tell?”

“I barely speak to other women as it is,” Julian said calmly. “And I always keep a strict distance during work.”

Quinn hurried to reassure him. “I trust you completely.”

“I would never cheat on you,” Julian said firmly. “You don’t ever have to worry about that.”

“How did we even get here?” Quinn laughed. “Of course I believe you.”

She hesitated for a second, then added quietly, “Speaking of cheating… if-just if-we ever stop loving

each other someday… let’s just be honest. Don’t do anything to hurt the other person…”

Before she could finish, Julian pulled the car over to the side of the road.

“Wait-you can’t park here!” Quinn panicked.

“What did you just say?”

Quinn pushed his arm lightly. “Drive, please! We’ll get a ticket!”

“Keep talking, and I’ll kiss you quiet.”

Quinn clamped her mouth shut at once.

She’d finally realized it-Julian was old-fashioned deep down.

If she hadn’t made the first move, he never would have touched her before engagement. He probably believed in waiting until marriage, just like the older generation.

Once they married someone, they stayed together forever.

Not like modern young people, rushing into quick marriages and even quicker divorces. Divorce rates kept climbing higher every year.

They held hands all the way to the exhibition parking lot. Julian turned off the engine but didn’t move.

Quinn tried to pull her hand away, but he held it tighter.

She leaned over and kissed his cheek. “I’m sorry I said that. We’ll be together forever, okay?”

“Your attitude’s still wrong,” Julian said. “Try again. Properly this time.”

“I’m sorry,” Quinn apologized earnestly. “I shouldn’t have even thought that way.”

Julian still sta. her, clearly unsatisfied.

Quinn sighed helplessly. “Fine-what exactly do you want me to say?”
