It was quite a while before someone finally picked up the call.

His voice shook uncontrollably. “Quinn? Is Quinn alright?!”

Julian could barely hear the rest of the words. His mind went completely blank the second those words sank in.

He gave out urgent orders without thinking clearly, then rushed straight to his car. He kept the call connected all the way and headed for the hospital where Quinn was sent.

His bodyguards kept telling him over the phone that Quinn was out of immediate danger, yet he could not settle his heart down until he saw her in person.

He stumbled the moment he stepped out of the car, and his driver quickly reached out to steady him.

When he hurried to the emergency ward, Quinn had already regained consciousness.

“She only has a mild concussion,” the doctor told them. “Luckily, she has no other serious physical injuries.”

Quinn had been sitting in the back seat, so she escaped severe harm. The driver and another bodyguard in the front seat were badly hurt and still undergoing surgery inside the operating room.

Julian sat beside the hospital bed and held her hand tight. He hung his head low, hiding his reddened eyes from her sight.

“I’m fine,” Quinn mumbled weakly.

She felt dizzy and nauseous, yet she tried her best not to let him worry.

Julian took a deep breath and pressed his face gently against her palm. He had never felt such overwhelming fear before. He dared not imagine what he would do if anything terrible happened to her. Quinn forced herself to stay awake and stroked his hair softly. “Don’t be so upset. Look, I’m perfectly okay.”

She had asked about the driver and bodyguard right after she woke up, Julian chose to hide the truth that they were still in critical condition, afraid it would upset her greatly.

He lifted his head to look at her. “Do you

feel any

other discomfort?”

“I’m alright,” she smiled faintly. “I just feel worn out and want to sleep for a while.”

“Rest well then.

Julian stayed by her side quietly. Only after she fell asleep did he stand up to ask about the whole incident.

The bodyguard following the car stepped forward to report. “We called the police right after the crash. The other driver was driving under alcohol influence.”

Anger welled up inside Julian. If the man had acted more ruthlessly, Quinn would have ended up lying on the operating table just like the other two injured men.

“Hand this case over to the law. I demand Faye receive severe punishment she deserves.”

Quinn woke up again soon after and asked about the injured staff once more.

Julian still kept the truth from her. “They are resting in other wards. I have arranged people to take good care of them.”

“That’s such a relief.” Quinn looked full of guilt. “If I hadn’t stopped by the tailor shop suddenly, we would never have taken that road, and this crash would never have happened.”
