“It’s your decision. I’m just your bodyguard, in charge of your security. I don’t have an opinion on anything else.”

Laurence looked at her for a moment, wanting to say something, but ultimately stayed silent. He merely sighed and then started working in resignation.

Now that Laurence was actually working, Noelle did not have to keep staring at him fixedly. She walked out of his office but did not go far. Finding a spot, she sat down and grabbed a few magazines to pass the time with.

Laurence’s secretary, Paul, poured her a glass of water.

“Have some water, Noelle.”

Noelle nodded slightly.

Laurence’s secretary was a man and was younger than Laurence and Noelle by a few years, but had been working for him for quite a few years now and was well-trusted.

The employees of Longtail Group all knew that although Noelle was Laurence’s bodyguard, she was a special one. After all, they grew up together and had eighteen years of a familial bond with each other. The way Laurence treated Noelle made everybody else afraid to think too little of her.

Everyone addressed her the way Callia and the rest did.

“Noelle, did Mr. Young say what to do about what Ms. Longbottom is doing at our office entrance?” Paul asked.

Noelle flipped through the magazine. At Paul’s question, she replied calmly without even looking up, “The boss has already made arrangements. There’s no need for us to do anything, so you can go back to work.”

“Oh, he’s taken care of it? Alright then, I’ll go back to work now. If there’s anything else you need, just let me know.”

Knowing that Noelle did not like talking too much, Paul could not very well, and did not dare to, keep asking about it, so he went back to work.

At the office entrance, Roxy watched as her men helped her arrange the flowers she had bought into a red heart shape. She retreated a few steps to appreciate the red heart. Yes, good—it was a splash of bright red.

Very pretty.

In all her life, no one had ever prepared such an arrangement for her.

Yet, she was now preparing one for Laurence. She had stomped her own ego as the Ms. Longbottom into the ground, unafraid of others laughing at her and calling her shameless for pursuing Laurence so relentlessly.
