The butler quickly led a group of people inside. Most of those Longbottom family members were elderly folks from Tony’s generation, along with a few from Manny’s generation. There was not a single person from the younger generation among them.
Before long, the living room was packed to the brim. With no more seats available, the rest of them simply stood.
Tony scanned his relatives, estimating there were about fifty or sixty people in total. The older ones were the very same accomplices who had plotted alongside him all those years ago.
“What is all this racket so early in the morning? Did Manny screw up again?”
Tony’s tone was relatively mild with them.
After all, those were the people who had done his dirty work in the past, his most loyal loyalists.
“Tony, that boy from back then is back,” one elderly man said in a low, panicked voice. “When we woke up this morning, every one of us received a piece of paper. We have no idea who delivered them.”
As he spoke, the man pulled out a sheet of paper, unfolded it, and handed it to Tony. “Look at this, Tony. It’s a printout of the family head’s official seal.”
They had not laid eyes on the family head’s official seal in thirty years. The acting family head usually only signed his name when handling official business, without the actual seal.
The others quickly pulled out their own pieces of paper. Without exception, every single one contained the same image of the family head’s seal.
Tony looked at it, completely unfazed.
He had confirmed that Laurence was that boy from all those years ago. When Laurence went all out to pick up Jane and Lilian from the airport, Tony knew the kid was preparing to go public with his identity. The boy had been wearing a mask the entire time because the face underneath was not even his real one. Instead, he was wearing a highly sophisticated silicone mask.
“Tony, if that kid is back, he must have the family token on him. He definitely ordered someone to print these out and deliver them to us. It’s a direct warning that he’s coming back to reclaim his birthright!”
The elderly man who had spoken first added anxiously, “What do we do now? Tony, you need to send men to investigate this immediately! Find that kid and send him to the afterlife to reunite with his parents. That’s the only way any of us will ever truly sleep easy again.”
“He’s right!”
“Exactly!”
