“I’ve bought a lot of fruit during my grocery run, so there’s no need to get more. Sonny barely eats any,” Jessica said. “The four of us can’t finish that much anyway.”
Only Luke and Olivia would look for something to munch on while watching TV.
“Alright. I’ll get going then.”
“Go on.”
Hank turned to head to the elevator as Jessica stepped back into the apartment. With the door closing behind her, her tense nerves relaxed.
Finally, she could be alone for a while.
She went to the kitchen to do the dishes and tidy up before sitting on the living room sofa. She turned on the television to watch the news.
Normally, she would not get much of a chance to relax on the sofa.
Luke and Olivia would be there, occupying the seat and the television. Not wanting to share the same room with them, Jessica would either be in the kitchen or the bedroom.
The only exception was when Hank was around.
Jessica’s favorite thing to do was grocery shopping because she did not have to take Olivia’s attitude. She could hang out at the mall and exchange neighborhood gossip with familiar faces.
She had plenty of spending money. If she wanted something, she would buy it. It was the same for groceries. She could put anything she craved in her cart.
Nevertheless, Olivia and Luke would request specific dishes, telling her what to get and make.
She would accommodate their demands while not depriving herself of anything. Jessica made sure everyone got what they wanted for dinner.
