Everly laughed. "In all my life, this is the first time someone has called me beautiful. People would tell me I was cute when I was little, but I always felt they were just saying it to make me feel better.

"I'll just look like your wallflower standing next to you."

She felt that Sonny was better-looking than she was.

If Sonny had slightly softer features, people could easily mistake him for a beautiful woman. On the other hand, Everly was the type who could easily be mistaken for a man.

"Being too handsome as a man isn't necessarily a good thing. It comes with plenty of trouble. Ms. Flemming, I see your secretary. We'll talk when we meet."

"Sure."

Everly hung up the phone.

A few minutes later, Sonny knocked on the door and walked in carrying two bags. One contained Everly's gown, and the other contained a jewelry set to match.

Sarah poured Sonny a glass of water and left the office.

Sonny placed the two bags on Everly's desk, saying, "Old Mr. Flemming asked me to bring these over and said you could change in your lounge. Once you're ready, we'll head to the Lang residence."

Everly took the bags and looked inside, muttering something under her breath. Sonny could not quite catch what she said.

He did not need to change. He was already wearing a suit, and with his good looks and figure, he looked great in anything.

"Go ahead and finish your work, Ms. Flemming. I'll sit over there and wait."

Seeing that Everly still had some documents to deal with, Sonny picked up the water and went to the sofa in the waiting area, careful not to disturb her.

Everly finished the documents as quickly as she could, then pressed the intercom and called Sarah in.
