The Lang residence was not far from Flemming Group. Under normal traffic conditions, it would take only about ten minutes by car. However, they had left during rush hour, and the traffic was horrible. A journey that should have taken ten minutes ended up taking almost an hour.

Whenever Sonny came to Clearfield in the past, it had always been for business. He would arrive, deal with whatever needed handling, and leave as soon as it was done. It was his first time attending a high-society gathering here.

He barely knew any of the major business figures in Clearfield. Unless their companies had worked with his, he might have heard some of their names, but he had never met them in person.

On the other hand, Everly was a local. She had accompanied Kaden to all sorts of events since she was young and was familiar with practically everyone.

When their car entered the Lang estate, Harrison, the butler, was directing traffic and guiding guests into parking spots. Upon seeing Sonny's car license plate, he paused in confusion. He had never seen this particular number before.

Still, everyone on the guest list was a distinguished guest personally chosen by his employer. The unfamiliar license plate might simply belong to a new acquaintance.

Thus, Harrison's attitude remained unchanged.

After Sonny parked the car, Everly got out. Harrison froze again when he saw her, then immediately smiled. "Ms. Flemming, it's you. Is this your new car?"

When Sonny stepped out as well, Harrison first assumed that he was Everly's new driver. However, the more he looked at him, the less likely that seemed. The man's presence and bearing were nothing like that of a driver.

Besides, he was far too young and handsome.

Everly normally did not spend time alone with young men, afraid of causing misunderstandings. Countless men wanted to marry her, yet she never gave any of them a chance.

Perhaps she suspected that they were only interested in her family's wealth.

Harrison could understand her actions. If he were in her shoes, he would probably wonder whether people were approaching because of his status, position, and fortune too.
