Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Need Help?

Back then, when the little ones saw their home in ruins—a courtyard with nowhere to even step—they cried, each more heartbroken than the last.

They all wailed that they had lost their home.

Shen Yue had been devastated too. Their perfectly good bamboo house, their lovely courtyard, their wonderful home... a place they had just grown accustomed to, destroyed so easily by someone else!

It was as if all the effort and emotion poured into it had been reduced to nothing in an instant.

To say she wasn’t sad and angry would be a lie.

So, she had taken her Electric Shock Stick and given the man in black a few more vicious jolts.

She had even stripped him naked, thrown him into the water to soak for a day, and vented all her frustrations on the spot.

Over the past three days, she had not only been carefully looking after her seven frightened children, but had also spent an entire day administering acupuncture to Mu Silin and the others.

Thanks to the Vitality Water and the acupuncture that cleared their meridians, Mu Silin and the others recovered their spiritual power after just one night’s sleep. By the next morning, they were back on their feet and moving with ease.

Only Huang Ziyue had injured his Spiritual Core, and he still needed another two days to recuperate.

Then, early this morning, the men had all unspokenly gone to cut down bamboo and chosen a new, flatter spot to start building a new house.

Shen Yue snapped out of her reverie and ruffled their little heads.

"You’re still too little to help much. Mama just went to check on it. The bamboo house is already built, and it’s even bigger and prettier than our old one. The yard is huge, too. How about Mama takes you over there after we eat?"

Upon hearing this, the little ones exclaimed:

"Wow, it’s already finished? That’s awesome!"

"Okay, let’s go after we eat! Er Bao wants to eat Mama’s grilled fish!"

"Xi Xi wants boiled corn."

"Liu Bao wants a whole roasted pig."

Listening to them, Shen Yue hugged them dotingly.

"Alright, alright. Whatever you want to eat, Mama will make it for you."

Shen Yue soon arrived at the mouth of their cave and began to cook.

Many of her cooking utensils had been destroyed in the sudden attack.

Thankfully, her stone pot was intact, as were the stone slabs for her small cooking stoves. She also rummaged through her dimensional space and found a usable steel pot and a medium-sized iron wok.

She didn’t even know when she had put these things in.

She only remembered that years ago, when she was testing this unknown space, she had tossed in anything and everything she came across. Since she’d never taken anything out, she had no idea what all was in there.

Looks like they were finally coming in handy.

Shen Yue decided to make this a celebratory meal for having survived the ordeal unscathed.

It was also a way to thank her men.

So she took out a few ears of corn that Xi Xi wanted, then also took out vegetables like broccoli, green beans, cucumber, and eggplant.

She also took out two pheasants, a few silver carp and yellow catfish, and a basket of capelin.

Then she took the goat that Ye Lüqi had hunted that day, prepared it, and set it on a spit over hot coals to roast.

When the roasting goat started to SIZZLE and release its fragrance, she began to pan-fry the capelin and grill the silver carp on a stone slab.

At the same time, she used the stone pot to make a spicy and numbing yellow catfish stew, adding glass noodles, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots.

After setting the stone pot aside, she used the large iron wok to make braised chicken with potatoes and green beans.

She also made a smashed cucumber salad and a cold-dressed eggplant salad.

Finally, she used the steel pot to steam the corn and sweet potatoes, along with some other starches like kabocha squash.

Just as Shen Yue finished steaming everything and was about to brush another layer of seasoning on the whole roasted goat...

"It smells so good!"

A carefree, cheerful voice suddenly rang out.

Shen Yue looked up and saw Gu Fangqi standing on a tree branch, staring in amazement at the lidded pots in front of her and the whole roasted goat in her hands.

The man then leaped down.

His movements were impossibly graceful, a dazzling flash of red that was breathtaking to behold.

Shen Yue blinked.
