Shen Yue’s heart pounded with terror. She was fine, though. She didn’t have a Spiritual Core, so she wasn’t suffering.
But seeing the equally pale faces of Mu Silin and Lan Cangyue, she understood this was a form of spiritual power suppression between members of the Beast Clan. They were definitely not having an easy time.
Just then, another roar echoed through the air.
The ground shook violently.
Mu Silin, Lan Cangyue, and Ye Lüqi instantly fell, crashing to the ground.
Shen Yue tightly gripped Qibao and Er Bao, who had almost fallen.
The little cubs cried as they hid behind Shen Yue.
Immediately after, the surrounding trees began to topple with a splintering CRACK.
A huge, broken tree came crashing down toward them.
"Watch out!"
Mu Silin, Lan Cangyue, and Ye Lüqi scooped up the children and pulled Shen Yue along, narrowly dodging the falling tree.
They had just regained their footing when a torrent of splintered trees came crashing down on them.
Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, and Lan Cangyue weaved through the gaps, shifting their positions with lightning speed just to barely escape.
After they stopped, they didn’t even have a moment to catch their breath.
A vast shadow fell over them, blotting out the light.
Shen Yue snapped her head up and saw a colossal creature, as majestic as a hill, slowly straightening its body.
Her gaze traveled inch by inch up its massive frame until, with her head tilted all the way back, she could finally see the behemoth’s face.
It had the body of a titanic ox. Barbs like scimitars grew from its enormous head, and the horns on its crown slanted back, long and straight, disappearing into its mane.
Its fangs grew wild and menacingly, curving upward like hooks. Its face resembled that of a great ape, and its angry eyes, each as large as a lantern, were set deep beneath a heavy, jutting brow. As it glared, they seemed to spew flames.
The brown-and-tan quills and fins on its body were like steel needles. It looked utterly ferocious, like an Evil Beast that had crawled out of hell.
Shen Yue couldn’t stop her body from trembling. She stared at the behemoth before her, which blotted out half the sky. It had to be at least two or three hundred meters long and weigh five or six thousand tons.
At the creature’s feet, they were as insignificant as ants.
’It feels like I’m living in some unreal world,’ Shen Yue thought.
Her legs went weak without her realizing, and she nearly collapsed to the ground.
’This is just too insane!’
Even the beasts in *Fantasy Mountains and Seas* wouldn’t dare to be this fantastical.
Mu Silin, Ye Lüqi, and Lan Cangyue also craned their necks to look at the towering figure before them, their faces turning paler by the second.
’What in the world is this thing?’
’It’s absolutely horrifying!’
’I’ve never heard of a beast this gigantic existing in the world.’
As for the cubs in their arms, they were already scared witless, not even daring to cry anymore.
Then, the monster’s pair of blood-red eyes fixed on the small group below.
A chill instantly ran down the spines of Shen Yue, Mu Silin, and the others.
When Xi Xi and Er Bao saw those blood-red eyes, they could no longer hold it in and burst into tears with a loud WAIL.
The sound of their crying drew the monster’s gaze downward, and a savage, terrifying killing intent emanated from its eyes.
Shen Yue’s heart clenched. It felt like it was stuck in her throat, and a cold sweat broke out on her skin.
She didn’t dare to move, able only to stare intently at the monster’s every action.
The monster seemed to be meeting her gaze. As their eyes locked, it let out a heavy, guttural snort.
An extremely oppressive and tense atmosphere spread throughout the entire forest.
It pushed them all to the brink of collapse.
Just as they stood frozen, so tense they could barely breathe,
the giant beast above slowly lowered its massive head.
Its arm, as thick as half a mountain, also began to rise slowly under Shen Yue’s watch.
The violent winds around it began to churn...
Shen Yue could even hear the sound of the air tearing as it lifted its arm...
The moment Mu Silin and Lan Cangyue saw this, they realized what was happening:
"Run!"
The men grabbed Shen Yue and desperately fled backward.
Seeing this, the monster’s gaze turned cold.
It opened its massive maw and let out a deafening roar at Mu Silin and the others below.
The powerful sound wave, laced with force, slammed into them.
The three men’s legs instantly gave out, and they collapsed heavily to the ground.
Shen Yue was thrown from Mu Silin’s grasp, landing hard on the ground.
Mu Silin cried out in alarm, "Shen Yue!"
Shen Yue tumbled several meters away, but she held Xi Xi and Er Bao tightly, shielding them with her body.
