Chapter 125
The next day, Eliza flew to City S to meet Camille.
Upon hearing her intentions, Camille didn’t give a direct answer. “Eliza, I’ve always thought highly of your abilities and trust you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been the first to invest in ASKHEART.”
She shifted her tone. “But you don’t even have a proper project proposal, yet you’re asking for such a large investment. That’s not really following the right process.”
Eliza realized she had been too hasty.
“Sorry, Ms. Moore, I was too impatient. I’ll go back and properly work on the proposal. I hope you’ll give me another chance when it’s ready.”
After coming out, Sadie asked Eliza, a little disheartened, “What should we do, Eliza? Are we not going to be able to secure this project?”
The funding gap was too large, and just having ideas wasn’t enough.
Eliza knew it wouldn’t be that easy, so she remained calmer than Sadie.
“Let’s go back to Washington first.”
Sadie looked at his phone and said, “We’ve missed the latest flight.”
“What about the high–speed train?”
‘It’s Friday, and there are no tickets left.”
Then let’s just go back tomorrow.”
Since it was the weekend, there wasn’t much they could do anyway, so it made more sense to rest for the night.
The next morning, after breakfast, the two of them went back to the hotel to pick up their luggage when Camille called. She said she was already at the hotel entrance and had business near the airport, so she’d give them a ride.
While the hotel did offer shuttle service, Eliza suspected that Camille might want to talk to her, so they both got in Camille’s car.
Camille was in a business car, with her male secretary and the driver in the front.
When Eliza got in, she noticed that Camille looked a bit pale, so she asked, “Ms. Moore, are you sick?”
It’s just my period, the usual issue,” Camille said, looking a little weak.
Her male secretary handed her some brown sugar water.
After drinking a few sips, Camille felt a bit better and spoke to Eliza, “Every time I get my period. I think back to when we first met. You really helped me a lot
back then.”
“It was really just a small favor, Ms. Moore. You thank me every time, and it makes me embarrassed”
“I just think what you said back then was perfect. Only women can empathize with other women, so women should help each other. That’s the only way for women to rise in society, to have more choices in life, and to take control of their own destinies.”
She had said that before, but she hadn’t framed it as grandly as Camille did.
“So, last night, I thought about it and realized I shouldn’t have treated you that way,” Camille said, taking Eliza’s hand with a sincere expression. “Ive decided to invest in your project.”
Eliza was taken aback by the sudden turn of events.
She was incredibly grateful for Camille’s support.

Chapter 125
When she had trouble getting investment for ASKHEART, Camille had been the first to help her.
Thank you, Ms. Moore,” Eliza said, deeply appreciative.
“Good luck, Eliza,” Camille encouraged her.
Things went smoother than Eliza expected. As soon as she landed in Washington, Grayson called her and asked her to accompany him to a business dinner in the evening.
Eliza rushed to “Luxe Atelier” to pick a dress.
Since she was accompanying an elder, she chose a very formal gown.
Her makeup was simple yet elegant.
Even the stylist at Luxe Atelier praised her beauty and suggested she wear some jewelry to enhance her elegance.
Eliza was left speechless.
She didn’t have any proper jewelry…
she had really been neglecting herself these past seven years.
Do you have any jewelry to recommend?” Eliza asked the stylist.
We have some, though I’m not sure if you’ll like them. The best ones were taken by one of our VIP customers.”
Let me have a look.”
he stylist wasn’t lying. The remaining pieces weren’t great.
n the end, Eliza didn’t choose anything and gave up.
Vith some extra time after her styling, Eliza decided to go to Grayson’s house to pick him up.
When Nancy saw her, she lit up. “Eliza, you look so beautiful today.”
Thank you for the compliment, Nancy.”
eing complimented was always a pleasant experience.
He should be almost ready too. I’ll go call him.”
liza waited for about five minutes in the living room before Grayson came out, using a cane.
fancy followed closely behind, holding a box.
ince Grayson walked over, he signaled to Nancy.
lancy opened the box to reveal a very rare sapphire jewelry set.
I was immediately obvious that it was incredibly valuablet
lancy said, “This is a gift from Mr. Young. It’s perfect for your gown today. Let me put it on for you”
liza immediately refused, “No, this is too valuable. I can’t accept it!”
This was always meant for you,” Grayson spoke up, then explained, “This was my late wife’s collection. It’s been sitting unused at home for many years. It’s a hame. Only when someone wears it will it regain its luster.”
Jut Eliza still felt it was too expensive and refused to accept it. This was something Ottilie had taught her since she was young.

Chapter 125
She couldn’t just accept gifts from others, especially expensive ones.
Grayson’s face darkened, and his voice became sharp. “If you don’t accept it, don’t come to see me again, and don’t bother going to the banquet.”
“Mr. Young…”
“Don’t call me Mr. Young.”
Eliza, “…?”
Nancy quietly tugged at her, “Just accept it.”
They still had to go to the banquet, and if this caused a delay, Eliza would feel guilty.
In the end, she had to accept it and said, “Alright, I’ll accept it for now.”
That’s better! Let me put it on for you!” Nancy happily helped Eliza wear the jewelry.
Grayson’s expression softened.
The Kashmiri blue, paired with Eliza’s black gown, really made the sapphire’s depth stand out.
Nancy kept praising her, “It looks absolutely stunning!”
Even Grayson complimented, “Not bad.”
Good to know you’re not upset, Mr. Young. Now, can we go to the banquet?” Eliza took the initiative to soften the mood.
Let’s go,” Grayson’s tone was unusually light.
by the time they arrived at the banquet, many people had already gathered.
Is soon as Grayson appeared, everyone crowded around to greet him.
veryone was polite and respectful.
oday, Grayson was unusually warm, not only responding to every greeting but also taking the opportunity to introduce Eliza’s identity.
LO of Apez Investment, Eliza.
Vith the successful ASKHEART project, everyone had heard of her name.
ut no one expected such a young woman to be the one behind it.
ome even secretly speculated about their relationship.
Mr. Young, where’s your son? Why isn’t he here today?” A familiar face came over to greet Grayson.
irayson’s attitude was indifferent. “I don’t know.”
le never liked discussing his son Calvin in public, and they had never attended a banquet together.
tumors had it that the father and son didn’t have a good relationship.
From the looks of it, it was probably true.
Another well–informed person chimed in, “Mr. Young’s on a business trip, that’s why he’s not here. I just saw Mr. Young’s girlfriend.”
Who’s Mr. Young’s girlfriend?”
The person, unaware of the situation, looked directly at Eliza.
