The man lunged forward, pressing his face toward Eliza’s.

He jammed the gun hard into Eliza’s temple. She grunted in pain.

The fighting stopped.

Lit cursed, “This guy’s good. Ife took down all of us.”

“Put your hands up!” the man demanded, using 13iza as leverage.

Watching the man drop to his knees, the kidnapper sneered, “What, is this pretty thing your girl? That why you’re so desperate?”

Even as he was beaten and mocked, the man said nothing.

The gun never moved from Eliza’s head.

Cold sweat poured down her back.

Whoever found her this quickly had to be sent by Mrs. Vega.
