Seven Years a Fool One Day a Queen (Kristine and Colton) novel Chapter 374

Belle was used to it.

At first, she had thought this was simply his personality that he was cold to everyone.

If she hadn’t seen the way he treated Lilith, she might have gone on believing that forever.

To him. Lilith was special.

Different.

Maybe that was what love looked like.

In any case, Belle didn’t understand it.

And she no longer wanted to.

“Let’s talk about our divorce,” Belle said flatly. No detours, no emotional buildup.

She was so calm it was almost frightening.

“This is the divorce agreement. Take a look first.”

She placed the prepared papers on the tray table, then looked up at him.

“About the baby… I’m sorry. That was my negligence,” Ambrose said, as if explaining himself. “I’ve already started looking into of the only problem is that where you were standing was a blind spot in the surveillance footage, so there’s no recording. We still haven’t vientifient person responsible.”

None of that mattered anymore.

The only thing she wanted to deal with right now was divorcing him.

As for who had hurt her, she would investigate it herself.

She didn’t need him.

“I’m talking to you about the divorce. Don’t bring up anything else for now.” Belle reminded him. “I already consulted a lawyer. The agreement we signed has no legal standing, so I’ll return the two payments you transferred to me.”

“And the money you fronted before the wedding–I’ll return that too.”

That’s the only financial entanglement between us. I don’t want anything else. I’ll leave with nothing. If you have no objections, then sign the divorce papers.”

Ambrose looked at everything Belle had prepared and listened to all the conditions she laid out.

For a moment, he was stunned.

That strange feeling came back again…

Didn’t Belle love money?

And now she was giving it up just like that?

And from the sound of her voice, it seemed that when it came to him….

she didn’t have the slightest lingering thought left.

He stayed silent for a long while before finally giving his answer.

“I’m not signing.”

Belle couldn’t help frowning. “Which condition doesn’t meet your requirements? Just say it.”

She was dead set on getting divorced anyway.

Ambrose pressed his lips into a straight line. “Quinn Group has a very important project preparing to go public. Nothing can go wrong during this period.”

So that was his reason for refusing to sign?

A businessman really was a businessman–profit above all else.

Belle let out a mocking laugh. “I thought you’d be dying to give Lilith a proper title. Compared to me, you seem like the one who needs freedom more.”

Ambrose’s tone hardened again. “That’s my business. It’s not yours to meddle in.”

So he really was planning to marry Lilith.

She was already stepping aside and making it easy for him, and he still wasn’t satisfied.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Ambrose. I’m not trying to meddle in your life. I just think if you keep dragging this out, you’re delaying my chance to run

toward a better life.”

Ambrose’s face darkened at once. “Once the project goes public successfully, I can give you three percent of the group’s shares.”

Belle hesitated.

There was no help for it.

She really did respect money too much.

Three percent of Quinn Group’s shares….

that was a huge, huge amount of money.

she suddenly felt that money was hard to earn and shit was hard to swallow.

As tempting as that three percent was, she had Eliza now, a solid thigh to cling to. That was enough for her to live the rest of her life in comfort.

“No head. We’ve been secretly married anyway. Hardly anyone knows. A divorce won’t affect anything. I don’t want your shares either. I just want to get out of this misery as soon as possible.”

It was obvious how desperate she was.

“I’m afraid that won’t work. Our current partner is an old friend of my grandfather’s. He knows about our marriage,” Ambrose said, cutting off every route she might take.

“Sure,” Eliza answered first.

Belle looked at her in confusion. “Are you super busy? I’ve avady kutid ay so smrt of your work has yet few days because of me forth have time to go on vacation?”

Even though Eliza hadn’t said anything Belle could well

Eliza had been afraid of disturbing her rest, to these past few days the had kay kay phone on stent and aided mening calls in front of her

She only picked up the truly important ones,

But Belle could still sense it, which was why she had tried to sleep as much as possible,

Because only when she was asleep could Eliza deal with work in prace-

instead of staying with her, chatting with her, walking with her, and trying to keep her sparks ag

But Eliza still said, “I do have time, I just don’t have much experience with vacations, Senior Brother, do you have any suggestions?

Nicolas grinned smugly, “Now that is exactly the right question to ask w

He was a master player in that department.

So Eliza said, “Then you arrange it. Somewhere with a pleasant climate would be best”

“Leave it to me, I guarantee the two princesses will have a great times

After Belle fell asleep, Eliza used walking Nicolas out” as an excuse and went downstairs with him.

“How’s the investigation into the swimming complex going?

Nicolas said, “It really was a surveillance blind spot. Nothing got caught on camera,”

When Eliza found Belle, she had been inside the changing area. There were no cameras there to begin with.

But the fact that someone had shoved Belle was equally real.

Seeing Eliza frown deeply, Nicolas comforted her. “Even if we can’t prove it, we can guess who did it. It’s just that without evidence, there’s no way to hold her responsible. But that doesn’t mean we have to let her off.”

“Trust me–sending her to jail would actually be letting her off easy.”

Revenge was far more interesting than simply locking someone up,

At the Quing residence-

After leaving the hospital, Ambrose went straight home.
