Having more or less determined the general scope of everyone's powers, albeit not in a detailed fashion, the eleven demigods could finally discuss the grave matter of humanity's survival from an informed position.
There were countless minute decisions they had to make — minute only in the grand scope of the apocalypse, of course. In truth, each of these issues could decide the fate of thousands, if not millions of people. Put all together, these minor choices could decide the fate of all humanity, as well.
Luckily, the eleven Supremes did not have to figure out every little detail — like the precise deployment of troops, the timing of each resettlement effort, the resource allocation for the refugees, and so on — themselves. They simply had to decide the general direction in which they wanted to move and entrust the rest to their subordinates, who were far more competent in the infinitely complex task of managing the day-to-day function of humanity.
There was also the fact that planning anything in too much detail was simply meaningless, since the situation across both worlds was highly unstable and changing unpredictably every day. So, the best anyone could do was prepare for the highest possible number of eventualities and pray that the worst projected scenarios would not come to pass.
Even if, deep down, that was pretty much exactly what everyone was expecting to happen.
If one disregarded this infinite number of minor decisions, though, it all boiled down to three profound choices.
The Supremes of humanity had to accomplish three global tasks.
Someone had to conquer the Fifth Nightmare. Someone had to keep the Dream Realm from being consumed by an endless tide of Nightmare Creatures. And, finally, someone had to make sure that billions of people did not perish while the waking world was falling apart.
So, the most important decision facing them was just that — they had to decide who would undertake each of the three tasks.
It was obvious that Sunny and Nephis would challenge the Nightmare. They were the most experienced Supremes among the rulers of humanity, after all, as well as the strongest. However, it was unclear if they would enter the Seed alone or in the company of trustworthy allies.
Sunny had somewhat expected Mordret to volunteer — he had mentioned considering doing just that, after all. In addition, although the Mordret of today was not the same as the Mordret of yesterday, he still wielded a Divine Aspect. Among the Sovereigns, only he could claim to be as powerful as Sunny and Nephis were.
The guy avoided committing to an answer, though, either still hesitating or preferring not to share his decision. This new Mordret was a strange guy... Sunny received an impression that he did not care whether humanity survived too much, extending his help only out of courtesy. Mordret had isolated himself from the rest of the world, maintaining contact with just a few select people, like Morgan, Rain, or Cassie.
