Annette took off the emerald bracelet from her other wrist and slipped it onto Stella’s hand. Her smile grew even wider as she said, “It’s yours.”

Stella was stunned.

Annette continued, “Sebastian’s legs aren’t the best. And he’s got a quirky personality.

“He’s a bit tongue-tied sometimes.

“And he’s got a temper on him.”

Just as Annette was rambling on, Allan suddenly started coughing as if his life depended on it.

Sebastian’s face stayed utterly blank.

Annette didn’t even blink. She just switched gears and added, “But he’s a good guy!”

Stella stared, bewildered.

Annette raised her hand to her lips, whispering like it was a secret, “If you two ever get into a fight, he won’t be able to chase you down.”

Stella instinctively glanced at Sebastian’s electric wheelchair.

Annette kept her hand up, still whispering, “Just yank the air valve out of his wheelchair!”

Everyone thought, ‘We all heard that.’

Carlos, who had just made sure Richard was still breathing, was absolutely livid. He shouted, “Annette!” But then he saw Sebastian and Stella both look up at him, two pairs of icy, dagger-like stares landing right on his face.

Annette waved her hand dismissively. She snapped, “What are you yelling for?” Even after just recovering from a serious illness, she still exuded her usual regal aura. She added, “Want a divorce? Fine! Sebby, settle the score with this old man!”

Sebastian raised his hand, his face frosty.

The elite lawyers from Harmony Law Firm, who had been ready for this moment, pulled out the notarized documents.

One of them said, “According to our records, Annette personally holds 32% of the shares in Gray Group, making her the second-largest shareholder.”

The lawyer’s professional voice echoed down the hallway.

Everyone from the Gray family on the other side was stunned.

Chapter 171

The lawyer began rattling off the list, leaving the Gray family totally speechless.

Annette actually owned a full third of the priciest commercial district in all of Haliville!

The lawyer kept reading for over ten minutes, just listing her personal property!

Sophia’s sobs grew quieter, her grip tightened, and her eyes nearly popped out of her head. She just couldn’t believe her ears.

All this time, she thought Annette was just living off Carlos. Who would’ve guessed Annette was this filthy rich?

“That’s just Annette’s personal holdings!” the lawyer finally declared.

After nearly twenty minutes, the lawyer finally finished, adjusting his glasses with one hand.

Sophia nearly lost it the second she heard “personal.” No way she’d let that cash just walk away. She demanded, “Personal holdings? After marriage, all of this is supposed to be joint property!”

Annette turned to Carlos, eyebrow raised. She asked, “What, you seriously forgot?”

Carlos stiffened his neck. He shot back, “Forget what?”

Annette gave a cold laugh and said, “Back when you married me, Carlos, you had a lawyer draft up a property agreement just to make me feel secure.

“If we divorce, you won’t get even a penny of my stuff! And whatever’s left, you still gotta split it fifty-fifty with me.”

That was savage: straight-up psychological warfare!

Stella couldn’t help but laugh.

First, Annette put all that jaw-dropping wealth on display, right under the Gray family’s noses. They could only look, never get a taste. Talk about torture!

Honestly, Carlos really did forget about that.

Sophia was so shocked that she completely lost her composure, her face twisting in disbelief.

“No way! I don’t agree!” she screamed.

Annette laughed coldly and sneered, “You don’t agree? And what makes you think you matter?”

She glanced at the family elders and said, “Let me guess, none of you knew this, right? The Gray Group headquarters is still under Sebastian’s name. If Carlos divorces me, you either pack up and leave, or start paying rent to my darling grandson.”

The Gray family elders were stunned into silence.

They couldn’t believe their ears.

Annette’s eyes sparkled as she looked up at Stella, her whole vibe practically screaming, “See? I am rolling in cash!”

Stella had to admit, Annette was actually kinda adorable.

Carlos looked mortified; Annette had just called him out in front of everyone, leaving him standing there, totally embarrassed. He muttered, “Why are you spilling all this to outsiders?”

Annette shot back, “Outsiders? Who do you think is an outsider? Do you mean Lucas or Sebastian? They are all my family.

“If anyone is the outsider here, you are.”

Stella thought, ‘Annette is a total powerhouse.’

Annette was feeling a bit worn out, so she passed the torch to Sebastian. She called out, “Sebastian, you handle the rest.” She then leaned back in her wheelchair, holding Stella’s hand, feeling completely at ease.

Sebastian said, “Since you brought up divorce and getting booted from the clan, let’s settle these one by one.” His tone was cold as ice. When he looked at Carlos, his eyes were completely devoid of any family affection.

Carlos started freaking out. He protested, “Divorce? Absolutely not! I’m not signing off on this!”

The thought of walking away empty-handed and even having to cough up half his stuff made him dig his heels in. No way was he going along with that.

Sebastian gave him a cold, hard stare. He said, “It’s not up to you.”

Stella glanced at Broderick, who suddenly shuddered. Forget about keeping up appearances, he jumped right in and said, “I’ll handle the divorce case!”

Annette shot him a skeptical look and asked, “Can you even handle this?”

She thought, ‘He literally just betrayed us.

‘What a turncoat!’

The elite lawyers from Harmony Law Firm behind them were all speechless.

They thought, ‘Come on, he’s more than up for it.

‘With Broderick on the case, Carlos won’t even be able to sneak out with a single pair of holey boxers.
